I attempted to read this once and immediately got filtered by what is probably the densest prose I've ever laid my eyes upon.

I agree, particularly insufferable in French, where it reads like an uninterestingly predictable lexicon. The setup is alright, but that's it.

Grapheme to phoneme transition is relatively transparent in French (it's the other direction that is opaque).

Its an ok book, but nothing special. Its largely plotless and mostly revolves around people talking about satanism and church bells. The black mass at the end is interesting but that's about it.
