As a writer would you (geographically speaking) rather:

>Move to or towards an already established and bustling literary scene?

I feel that both have their strengths, but which would you prefer?

i dont like the idea of being pigeonholed into a scene or genre, its stifling to creativity, also once the scene is over you are over too

I want to be largely unknown and misunderstood until my death, when my journals of copious notes are given away at my estate sale to a curious young man who will steal my work and pass it off as his own.

Genuienly, I'd like to be considered as carrying on the tradition of raw and unique British writers like Irvine Welsh, Martin Amis, Roddy Doyle, etc, except without the faux lefty boomerism. My work isn't meant to be outstanding philsophically, I just want to capture the modern day reality of Britain (without being overtly chuddy) in my unique prose style that is inspired by 20th century writers like Celine. I want to be a literary layman of sorts, one who is easily digested but still refined enough to be given artisitc credit.
