The closest I ever came? Lesbian romance with a revenge plot. But I admit, I know zero about lesbians, I just straight made that shit all up. Doubt I'll do much with that smut experiment, but who knows.

I introduced a gay female character in my one series, but I treated her different than most. She's a recurring character across a couple books. I'm sure any actual gay person would whine I'm not treating my female gay character "correctly", whatever in the hell that even means.

But I gave her what I felt was life and soul. A prominent place among the characters of the book she first appears in. I don't "worship" her being a dyke in any way at all. Its just, she's gay because she was raped when she was young? And that's that. And when the male MPs all get together, to solve a big real life case for one of their own back in the real world... they bring her in. She's that one female MP that all the male MPs didn't mind being around, having her for backup. I made her into something of a heavy, actually. I literally treat her as one of the guys, and she has certain skills that the team need. The fact I get drama and mileage and interesting dialog out of her? Is another plus.

I mean, I'm actively writing, because I don't want woke writing. So, I'm making non-woke genre slop fiction. And even I like having her as one of the main characters, she's kind of rounds things out.

What I didn't do with my gay female character. No wonder woman syndrome. WhIle she is fairly tall and athletic, and a trained fighter because of being an MP for six years... she's most dangerous because even with all that, she needs to go for her gun quick, and ventilate a violent perp. She knows she can't go toe to toe with an aggressive male chimping out on adrenaline. I made her realistic, I felt.
