Clive Barker's Books Of Blood series really hits the spot around this time of year. might dive into that JG Ballard stuff I've always wanted to get into, although that's not "horror" in the conventional sense. maybe the Harlan Ellison stuff too.
for nonfiction, Ronald Hutton's books on Witchcraft and Claude Lecouteux's books on Vampire lore and Ghosts might hit the spot too around this time of year.
I also have some real life stories of forensic anthropology as well.
