Atheism is an ideology
Ideology is diet religion
Therefore atheism is a religion

Funny, I thought religion was a belief in divine powers.
Are you quite sure you're not full of shit?

I think /lit/ perceives that some mysteries cannot be explained rationally or logically. Esotericism is an attempt to bypass the rational function and access truth directly.

It's an overcorrection from the enlightened atheism and STEM-obsession of the early 2010s, and from the postmodern degradation of meaning. It'll pass.

No one wants to deal with pure dogma without the aesthetic veil. It's boring.

Christianity has an element of esotericism though so idk why you want to contrast Christianity and esotericism as if they were mutually exclusive
Anyway if you can't understand the appeal then just move on

i got into the occult through art, even if you dont believe in it, it can be useful for artists. The symbolist poets were into the occult, wb yeats was into the occult.

I had noticed that art and sigils are very similar in nature, and came to the conclusion that magic was about putting ideas out into the hive mind of humanity through the power of will. you can do this in many ways, art, advertising, science, ceremonies, rituals.

to tell you the truth the occult was fun to explore in your early 20s but by my late 20s i was showing signs of schizophrenia and long story short i had a psychotic break, ended up going to the psych ward twice, now i have to take anti psychotics. to tell you the truth i think my psychosis was a one time deal, it was transient. but no one in my life belives me, i feel like a sane man trapped in an insane asylum.

So i abandoned the occult mostly, im still into mundane astrology though.

Christianity is the reason you can read and write. It's not a cope, it shapes the very civilization and rule of law you live under. Speaking as a Muslim.

If you have not read the Bible you will not understand Western literature and its allusions and archetypes. I believe it is essential to understand Western history and literature.

Even reading Shakespeare depends on an understanding of Biblical allusion.

before the french faggotry and communism, a passing knowledge of the occult, was basically a prerequisite for any field where you deal with people, especially the arts
that's why guilds existed, to give you a complete education
also astrology was mainstream from the Mesopotamian times until the 1800s, no matter the geographical location or religion
>to tell you the truth the occult was fun to explore in your early 20s but by my late 20s i was showing signs of schizophrenia
"practical occult" is dangerous, just like "a little knowledge" is dangerous... but if you study and also read the Bible, it can probably help you navigate the minefield of life

yeah, it's absurd that the greatest book ever written, something every thief in the middle ages dreamed of stealing to read it, is practically everywhere and nobody reads it
>KJV
it's a translation so beautiful it's absurd (in the good way)

Same shit. Expelled from the European mainland they settled in England, enslaving the rest of the brits. Provoking the schism with the Cristian Rome, and opening the door to the most obscure and evil satanic ideas and cults.
Phoenicians, Carthage, Venice, Black Nobility, engineering the fall of Constantinople (end of the Roman Christian empire), rise of the dark ages, Amsterdam, >LONDON.

The people of the past were not stupid or lying. They were superior to you. They actually had mystical experiences and talked with spirits and demons and gods and god and based their society off of that. You are stuck worshiping power thinking people can control reality and thus refuse to see the obvious that all of that shit was real on some level.

Everyone worships something, whether they realize it or not. In the same way we are all slaves to something or someone, whether we like it or not: it's just a metaphysical fact.
