most people agree it's either Crash or High Rise
my personal favorites are High Rise and Concrete Island

>currently reading his Epstein novel
Supposedly a script is in development, Hollywood will never produce a child-sex trafficking movie for obvious reasons.

Proabably his early apocalyptic works (the so-called "elements tetralogy").
The Drought is especially good. The Drowned World is great too.

Tried reading High-Rise
Got about halfway through before I put it down
Interesting idea for a plot but I didn't like his prose
Too dry and technical
Although he was a doctor(?), so I don't hold it against him
I'm more of an H.G. Wells kind of person

I like the child rape and cannibalism in Empire of the Sun, because Spielberg's film has utterly hidden the novel. Generally I like having sex with objects.

I read Concrete Island and High Rise first and it made me a fan. High Rise is one of my favourite novels.
Then he's been hit and miss for me. Running Wild is fun. Didn't like Crash. Atrocity Exhibition is fascinating but it gets repetitive.
