right now in america we have a little detour into populism but nothing much has changed. I can already feel the vibe shift/ pendulum swinging back to the left because trump ruined the right by getting caught up in the Epstein stuff

I believe that china is just moving towards a liberal capitalist model as its state corporations keep lagging behind its private corporations. At most china will just replace america as the leading power of liberal capitalism rather than replacing liberal capitalism itself

As the entrepreneurial (upper) middle class expands it will inevitably demand political influence and participation, clash with party bureaucracy more and more, and one day the ideologically hollowed out CCP will simply lose political authority. Might get bloody. But you can't have a class be economically dominant and politically impotent at the same time long-term, it's simply contradictory, so liberalism will come by hook or by crook.
