Of course I understood that on a fundamental level, but never heard anyone put it that way

Every time I look at the story I've just finished, I keep changing it
I AM making it better each time, though...
But I have to walk away from it now and get it published

I've heard, I think from Valery, but I don't think it's true. Insofar as a work must be abandoned it has failed. Perfection is arts is rare though, so know yourself, etc.
