What are you reading right now? What do you think?
>War and Peace, just passed page 700
>I was extremely impressed with Marya's reaction to her father's death! Tolstoy really has an eye for the human. In particular, I'm wondering if he was influenced by Rousseau's account of empathy in writing this scene.
>The Ice-Shirt
>Really enjoying it, though I'm not sure I 100% understand the account Vollmann is giving of "changing shirts" and personal transformation/staying the same generally. It'll probably make more sense once I'm done though.

A recent Swedish novel, My Friends by Fredrik Backman. I'm about halfway through it. It's not my usual sort of novel, but it's funny and sometimes insightful, and overall a more enjoyable read than my other current book, Middlemarch (which I like, but JFC does it drag on at times).

You write like the kind of person who'd forget their cock if it wasn't attached to them. Your taste confirms this.

That some /lit/ busybody would target me with such a weak insult makes me feel strangely validated.

>Can’t hide the redditor mannerism of repeating himself and calling it a “confirmation”
You should scrape the cum off your teeth before responding.

>Lautremont - Les chants de Maldoror
This aged poorly. It inspired plenty of people to do plenty of things, but I read more shocking and nonsensical things on this very website.
> Nabe - Au régal des vermines
Nabe can be hilarious at times and he's got a gift for words, but I too often have zero interest in what he writes about, especially jazz.
