Why did Christie hate Poirot by the end?
She said he was a detestable, slimy, scumball of a man or some such. Sounds like feminist bullshit to me. Did she drink that koolaid at some later point?

I'm just reading Submarine Plans as my first introduction to him and sure, he just seems like a gay French Sherlock with a worse Watson, but there's no shame in starting with inspiration from one of the greatest literary characters ever created.

I like that the city stuck some kind of little utilities marker for municipal maintenance right next to the art.

Government is universally stupid and bad.

Could be. I havent read any of her yet either but the one line description sounds cool. An old bitch who solves crime should be fun on its own.

You just cant give me fat little curly mustache sherlock with a funny ego and expect me to not prefer him though.

Didn't Arthur Conan Doyle get to a similar place with Sherlock Holmes?

I would be angry too if I had to write like 40 novels of the same guy accidentally finding crimes to solve

Why not write 40 novels where the Detective causes the crimes, rescues or redeems the innocent after raping or murdering her, and pins it all on a patsy who looks evil but is actually innocent. Taken meets True Detective meets se7en. And every novel the rapes get worse. And he is never discovered.
