He's a puerto rican fatso who drew a few good strips. I don't think anyone thought he was intelligent, just somewhat funny sometimes.

is the near entirety of everything you learn in secondary school not just propaganda? the amount of important information you're taught to help you understand the world is puny compared to (even primary/elementary school) the amount of information you're taught to be a good worker and to not create any meaningful social change

Consider he is American.
In American English classes I read:
>To Kill a Mockingbird
>The Great Gatsby
>The diary of Ann Frank
>Animal Farm AND 1984
>The Catcher in the Rye
>The Velvet letter
>All things fall apart
>Some Shakespeare every year
>Of Mice and Men

I'd consider half of those books to be in the "re-educating the white masses to their new masters"

Most of those books were by White people who are considered very racist by modern standards; great Gatsby contains negative portrayals of Jews and Blacks and Animal Farm is explicitly anti-communist

Things Fall Apart is literally pro-segregation, as in whites should stay out of Africa.

No. He's right. English classes are no longet about reading books and understanding what utility might be extracted out of it to guide you in your life. That's the old system. The new system is: you read the book, and you analyze it in terms of whose social position of power it justifies. So you look for who the supremacist is, in the text. It could be the author, it could be the characters, it doesn't matter. You read the text as if all it does is reflect on the current, corrupt power structure in modern society. And that's the beginning of literary criticism under the social justice regime.

And none of this is subtle. These people have gone way beyond subtle. We have Social Justice Tribunals in Ontario. They're named that. The educators in Ontario have already decided that the goal of the education system is to indoctrinate children from from kindergarten-- from kindergartden-- into a radical, postmodern, leftist, communitarian, equity-oriented ethos. That's what they're doing. Even math and science are put under that umbrella. Just go online and download the documents.

The Ontario Human Rights Commission should be abolished. It's a very dangerous and subversive organization. The idea that he purpose of education is to get them while they're young, in kindergarten, so this radical postmodern marxist ideology can be so thoroughly indoctrinated among them that they have no chance of escaping from it. That's what's happening in the education system. It's unbelievable. The people who are producing the educators that emerge from that institute should be put on trial for treason.

He's right though. Name a single piece of literature you read in high school (except Shakespeare) which inspired in you a sense of optimism, and that wasn't about how horrible everything is and how everything is hopeless and humans are terrible. They have always wanted to demoralize you. There's a reason they wanted you to read Lord of the flies or Blindness, which envision people as horrible deep down. In the real world, crises have instead shown to bring out the best in people.

If I wanted to hear losers uninformed thoughts about the world I'd become a psychiatrist. Literature should be show ideals to strive for. And it did up until the modernist faggots came and made everything bleak, cringe, and gay.

>understanding what utility might be extracted out of it to guide you in your life
You’ve correctly pointed out these classes are failing students, but you misunderstand. The point of literature is not for people to “extract utility” out of it like a self-help pamphlet. The whole point of learning to read literature, beyond training to be articulate, is to confirm you have a soul.

>They have always wanted to demoralize you
Or they want to prepare you for how the world really is. Blind optimism for the sake of itself is not helpful or realistic. You’ll be setting people up to be crushed by reality. Better to learn how to grapple with and come to terms with negative or contradictory ideas in a classroom setting, rather than imploding in your adulthood after living in a sheltered environment.

School doesnt care if you have a soul or not. There's a reason why all the classics speak to universal truths about mankind, and it's because no matter how much time passes, Enkidu's search for immortality is relatable to us all.

>>The Velvet letter
You mean The Scarlet Letter?

This list is pretty ass and par for a lot of people I knew. Fortunately, I read a lot of good fictional works in my high school and I can imagine a good part of American kids got similar experiences. Some of the works I read that I would consider outside the norm were:
>The Road
>The Collector
>Disgraced
>The Stranger
>In Cold Blood
>The Sound and the Fury
>Chronicle of a Death Foretold
>Wuthering Heights
