I was rewatching it last week and came to the conclusion that Ziegler is mostly telling him the truth at the end. They keep giving Bill warnings and trying to scare him and I think it‘s because although they‘re rich NYC jews who can gangrape and forcibly OD a hooker and scare a pianist back across the country, they aren‘t really powerful enough to kill a known, prolific high-class urban doctor and his family without attracting a lot of unwanted attention. The evil stuff about them is in the open and the orgies are just an expensive old semitic type of larp. Like Bohemian Grove except with masks because the idea is just to fuck and lower the moral fiber not to blackmail a bunch of dupish gentiles who got elected to congress.
