literature is gay shit.
>Used to think literature was this high culture fine art genius IQ level medium
>Most of the classical novels are just the opinions of the writers on diferent life topics
>Most of them are mitwit meditations you today can read in some online forum but with nice prose and for 200 pages

Oh, but here's my opinion on the smell of farts, that my father had when I was a toddler, this clearly means that the dichotomy between science and religion is not real, because I remember reading ballsack as a teen, which explained how in the napoleonic war, my grandfather survived mutilated and lost his will to life, that's why I gave up on science.

This is literally the best of literature.

Forums have been dead for decades. The closest equivalent is Reddit. You think Reddit has insights.

all true, yes indeed, but the point is precisely to see how different personalities from different cultures at different points in time tried to stretch out their midwit meditations across 200 pages while giving the reader a reason to keep turning the page. so even if the starting point consists of the trivial reflections of a midwit, the end result is an attempt to forge a meaningful shared experience out of the scrap of our private mental lives. and isn't that what it's all about, whether we're talking about literature or civilization or whatever?

I'm not complaining about that.

I'm complaining about the snobs who pretend this shit is totally superior to other mediums.

i dont even necessarily disagree

It isn’t. A painter can allude to other artists the same way a writer can allude to other authors, but a painting will always be easier to take in, rather than trying to absorb the intricacies of an entire novel.

Visual mediums in general seem to be taking more and more prevalence. And there aren’t enough writers who are confident enough to reframe the form of a novel to adapt to changing attention spans. Not even flash fiction or shitty insta poetry is really taking off: a twitter thread is really the threshold of what can hold most peoples’ attention these days.

Which other mediums did you have in mind?

Literature is just a kind of mirror, and you don't like what you are seeing.

My goal isn't to write a novel, but I started to read literature to not be an iliterate.

My goal is to properly write the design of my own games, and have them influenced both by classical literature but also classical game design into a new medium.

How about focusing on making a game that’s fun to play. Retard.

Now you can read what you want and not what you think is smart.

So previously you thought novels were objective descriptions of reality from God or had the concreteness of a math textbook? You sound retarded
