It used to irk me too, but many writters are hacks that cant actually tackle things with real substance.

The harry potter thing doesn't really correlate though. I mean, even if the clearly superior wizard race mixed with muggles, the result is still a wizard, right? If wizard genes were recessive and the wizard race was dying out that would be completely different ordeal. I find this actually makes the safe villains more crazy. What kind of person has zero problem with killing people, but gets butthurt over someone saying a slur. Not doing violence towards a group, but just calling something gay. It makes them look way more unhinged. Then they always end up killing or torturing the people and we're supposed to not feel bad because the character said the N word. It's creepy and more unhinged in my opinion because with other assholes you know where they stand for the most part. With these safe villains they remind me of weird White millennials you'd run into at a bar who just have to tell you how much they hate racism and it makes them so mad that they get angry and violent.
