In the debate between who bears most of the blame between GRRM and D&D for the fucking disaster of those later seasons, I don’t think George should ever get let off the hook. HOWEVER, I also have to believe that D&D deliberately started streamlining and dumbing down the story around season 5, and kept doing it as their ratings climb.
It’s rarely talked about how GoT reached its peak viewership when the show was at its most retarded, when it was at its most serviceable for normies (so between S5-8). I don’t think D&D would have wanted to weigh themselves with all the meandering Feast / Dance storylines, even if they knew where those were headed.

That's why 90% of theories on where the stories will go are about magic this, gods that, the language is so fucking vague that you can map out a entire northern region of the world, with the Great Other as physical base in a beating heart of ice like that of the warlocks house, among other things, but it can just as easily be a simple description of a feeling.
That's why I still think that it's 70% likely that everything happened in Game of Thrones was how it was meant to end, exactly how it was written no, but how everything happens there is how it ends.
The Others are written off, Euron can't do anything he sets his mind to and simply jobs to Jaime. Those are all red herrings that will go nowhere. The thing is he knows he set himself up and now there is no way to fix it without changing his original vision.
Winds really was finished in 2016-2019, but as Gurm saw backlash he took it back, and just gave up.

Probably, but the Valyrians were not "subhumans" they were in fact genetically enhanced _super-humans_ who in our distant future enslaved (regular) humanity here on Earth and later colonized Planetos.

But a civil war among them almost destroyed the planet (possibly causing the weird climate) and knocked civilization back into a stone age, where everybody (other than the few remaining Valyrians) forgot their Earth origins.

The Valyrians would then use some of their remaining tech to create dragons and founded the Valyrian Freehold but the Faceless Men would steal some of this tech and create magical "nukes" and (after first testing them on Hardhome) topple the Freehold.
