It feels like Wodehouse completely fell out of public consciousness in the past 20 years. I remember when I was a very small boy there were lots of shows on TV of his stuff, but I can't even find a complete collection of Blandings stuff for sale anymore.

That's sad. He's a delightful writer. I believe it is because of how comedy writing has fallen out of favour in the literary scene. When was the last time a comedy won something prestigious?

It pisses me off because I love comedy writing. I end up reading LNs and trash like that because it's the last bastion of comedy.

I love comedy writing too. It takes skill to write comedy. Tragedy can always rely on sentimentality, but comedy requires a sharp observation of the mundane

It is a shame. I recently discovered him, and love his writing. It is actually genius. There is something about his style that just makes me laugh and chuckle. If he had wrote about the tragedy of the human soul etc he would have been heralded as a genius. Instead, he decided to write silly English comedies, and thank God he did.
