I’ll have to be vague. It was in a hyper specific part of entertainment that only employs a couple hundred people in NYC so word and names get around pretty fast, and it doesn’t help that my boss is known around town.

I got fired because I was retarded and literally just doom scrolled instead of working. I’m not justifying it by any means and I’m past wallowing in it. But now, the only way I can forgive myself for blowing a life changing opportunity is if I learn to learn accountability and figuring out how to stop being a piece of shit.

Kinda was, but in reality all entertainment jobs, whether in publishing, music, or film, are mostly bullshit. Especially in the age of social media and unlimited access to an infinite library of content. The actual position was pretty important though and I was responsible for a lot, which is why me tuning out fucked over the whole company
