50,000 is a ridiculously short limit. However every book over 200,000 words I have found was bloated. A look at the greats proves this. Inferno? 130,000. Paradise Lost? 93,000. Hamlet? A measly 30,000.

I have a 300 page soft limit. Almost nothing that goes beyond 300 pages deserves the page coins and probably could have been edited more judiciously. Soft limit because I’ll read something over the limit understanding I’m likely to arrive having wasted time on the back end.
