I thought Jeff Vandemeers dystopian futures were decent, the books being a little off but the descriptions were original.
particularly the post apocalyptic biotechnological world of Borne.

It's everyone's favorite. /lit/ wanted to birth a whole new genre of it (burgerpunk)
It's in video games to this day.
