Are there any /lit/ discord servers that are worth joining? I'd like to be part of a community but I can't find a place that fits me.
Spanish servers are also welcomed!!

of course not.

They’re either dominated by women or lefties of the perpetually offended type so if you like it here there’s no place for you on Discord. You can make a game of how long you can pretend to be a useless cuck with no opinions before getting banned I suppose. Didn’t you just loooove goonerfantasy entry #6 anon? Oh my gosh!!! THAT part! Emoji emoji emoji emoji.

Would be nice if there was, but everywhere is a shithole and it's impossible to just find a handful of interesting and intelligent people to create something with
RandomFilmTalk's server is mostly about films, as the name would suggest, but is home to a very nice book community as well, mostly about LOTR but other genres too.

Any Discord "communities" focused on YouTubers and "content creators" should be avoided at all costs. In fact, no one should use Discord.

This book is incredible, evocative, well written and horrifyingly timely even reading it in 2025. The thing that scares me the most about this, is the cluster fucked, violent and resource scare world Butler describes still feels like something highly possible. I admired Lauren’s dedication to her writing, preparing for the inevitable and hunger for knowledge. Through her journal entries and Earthseed verses we get a clear understanding not just of the progressing horrors of a rapidly declining America, but an emotional road map of how to preserve for it, prepare with action, and how to embrace the unchanging.
This concept for a book is so unshakably poignant that I hate to even level criticisms as I feel that this book is simply a “must read” for anyone. My one note was that all of the multitude of characters at the beginning (aside from Lauren and her immediate family), and when the Earthseed crew bloomed with people made them a little hard to differentiate and keep track of. My other criticism is that I felt the romance between Lauren and Bankhole felt a little too much out of convenience as did the arrival of his very large farm (but hey in a near apocalyptic society where I’m sure romantic pickings are slim, I can get behind a romance of convenience and I do think that the way Bulter introduced his character to the story did not have the same deus ex machina quality as the story’s resolution).
This book also left me with lots of questions in a good way. How much of Lauren’s “success” is just good luck? Right place right time? How does one actively “change” God (that answer never quite materialized for me in the reading of this book)?
This is a book I would be most interested in reading again in another 10 or 20 years to see how much things changed. In the meantime, I’ll be preparing my emergency kits and learning how to shoot a gun.

The only public discord server I was ever even a little invested in went to shit as soon as the server owner trooned out. There are probably only a dozen properly active members now and I kid you not at least half of them have went and become trans over the past few years. Practically all of the trans members are self-admittedly mental ill and very spergy. Lots of whining about parents (esp. dads), politics, trans identity shit, and the classic America=bad/West=bad, Third World=Amazing/China=Great. Discord fucking sucks mate.

Discord is transgender infested, woke, mind rot. The medium is the message and the community WILL affect you no matter what. There are millions of lost Zoomers and Gen Y, who are now pushing 40, that are utterly lost there. /lit/ is infinitely more healthy. All you will find on Discord or other chat apps like Telegram is attention starved people who overinvest in their little personas. The admins, because of how much time they invest in moderating those spaces, will eventually try to "own" the community, which you can see time and again, buying ads on 4chan and other places and with ideas to start NFTs, coins, or published e-books. It's all very sad and very predictable.

Medium is the message. All discords are utter cancer. I don't care if a handful of you have 3-5 person server friends' groups using it like normies use a group chat on FB or IG. The typical Discord as a medium is pozzed by design.

This. Much of the Discord drama that spilled into the public is mods and users fighting one another for "control" of the "server."

Yep. What those people actually needed were friends and real life socialization. They are not there to discuss books. The "topic" of the server is ALWAYS just an excuse for the real reason people seek such places out. At the core each server is the same.
