It's really hard to be intellectually productive while having a wife and family. Anyone who is intellectually inclined knows this. I havent been able to read or write 20% of what I used to when I was single, after moving in with my gf. You only have so much time during the day, and if you're using it to take care of other people and give them attention, you're not using it for other things, like reading or doing philosophy. Or even just thinking and coming up with new ideas.
