I read The Pearl last year. Kind of pulpy. I hope his other books are good because I read the Pearl thinking I would be into some good literature but it was a dime store paperback quality novella. Big shame

it's a comedy. comedies are never going to have the same heft as something like Mice or the others, which get pushed in the school system
