Tipsy (Merlin and Mystia)
P Defeat/Morale are good on everyone. Morale generally better than Defeat, but it you're concerned about PP on low earners/characters who need a lot of expensive skills, then go with Defeat since it saves you 60.
You can delay this for characters with Yell/Drive. Even Sanae can hold off since she gets Miracle.

Belief 1 > Morale Limit Break > Belief 2
Shotgunning is only worth it on characters with very high damage modifiers who you intend on being frontliners. Eg. Reimu and Marisa. Depending on your team composition, it might be better to skip this entirely (eg you field a lot of melee 1-1 attackers and they dont have good 1-2 fall back moves)
Stat Investment gets increasingly more expensive past certain thresholds, so its not as good as mainline.
MLB is mandatory for Flandre and every Buddhist. Do not take it off.

Support Attack is generally good but I'd recommend identifying who you want to raise as your key supports instead of spreading too wide. Some good examples are Alice, Shizuha and Flandre.
Coordination is mandatory for supports with mediocre to bad skill. Its pointless on Alice because you were already maximizing her raw crit anyway.
Assist Attack is good on all backrow bots.
Ignore Size on all Size S.
>Bulk
Guard, Support Defense and Prevail are all good for tanks, especially when pairs open up. MLB also contributes to bulk since its equivalent to adding +20 Def but this is low priority.
>Evasion
Predict is good here unlike vanilla SRW thanks to grazing.
Streaming vs Cut Back depends on the character's playstyle. Streaming is better for focused mode (Youmu and Hatate are easy examples) while Cut Back is relevant for characters who prefer to be unfocused (Persist does not trigger when taking graze damage and Mokou tends to just explode via scratch damage from graze)
If you have bad skill (worse than Elly), consider Random Dodge. Its cheaper and stronger than Predict.

Extend is better than SP Up as long as you can reliably reach 150 Morale and actively use SP. Good on supports, characters with very expensive spirits (Reimu, Sanae, Yuyuko, etc)
SP Up is too expensive as usual but it does influence your min/max SP. If Extend still isnt enough and you have nothing else, consider this as an late/endgame purchase.
MP Save is useful but items generally have better value, so its not a pressing matter. Eg 200/0.8 = 250. 1 Grimoire puts you at 270. A Beer has you functionally working with 300.
Ammo Save is good on everyone who cares for it since it apparently rounds up. But you can also use a Cartridge for that.

Only really useful if you have Shield and/or Bunshin. However, its better overall to just buy +10 Skill unless your name is Ran and building around a specific skill.

Diligence is specifically useful for Yuuka because she doubles its benefits with Unreachable Flower, raising her Double Image chance to 80%.

There were very few cases outside of part 1 where I felt like I was ever lacking morale, so I don't really think P-Hit is necessary unless you have a unit who really doesn't function well without capping morale.

Evasion skills similarly, they can help but I was able to get all the dodge I really needed out of just making sure to stack friendship bonuses. I would say Predict is useful but Streaming and Cut Back are both overkill.

P Defeat/Morale are useful in time sensitive maps and offsetting morale depletion effects. Part 4 has an entire enemy type that exists to mess with morale gains.
Streaming/Cut Back/Random Dodge become relevant as you go further into the game due to increased accuracy mods on enemies whether its by raw accuracy or passives that mess with final evasion. Furthermore Hard/Lunatic enemies do start casting spirits and have final acc/evasion modifiers. Granted, Streaming is inherently valuable for Youmu in particular because Lotus Stance forces you to be in permanent focused mode.

Okay, I think I'm figuring out why Banpresto decided to bring God Sigma and Baldios into Z1, since there's a bunch of stuff in Gravion that references it. And maybe even why they used Grendizer instead of having the Mazinbros around plotless.

If you're focusing solely on his attack power you're using him wrong. What he brings to the table before his endgame upgrade is a lot of utility for a single deployment slot. Including having a built-in morale down effect.

But the think to keep in mind is, if fans can see that is what happened, obviously Hasbro and Power Rangers owners can tell, and even if they don't want to use the Sentai footage anymore, its still in their interest to hold back a competitor to their IP especially if the new series for Disney+ ends up materializing. So I am curious how they plan to weaken such a case. (And as a reminder, stuff like this has been done by PR, like when FFXV wanted to do a Sentai style DLC outfit.)

I don't think Hasbro is as litigious as Saban was at least, considering how Red Ranger isekai and Ranger Reject got officially localized without issues.

Besides, Goranger -> SunVulcan aren't covered by the PR licensed due to not being fully Toei owned and being created before the Super Sentai brand (their complicated ownership is why Super Megaforce went out of its way to exclude footage with them even while keeping other Sentai-only teams). They can just point to them.

Scarlet in the singular releases is the only time Marisa has ever had it harder and that's purely due to Stage 4 with Elly. The moment you get to Mystic, the game slowly but steadily shifts to Marisa's favor due to unit availability shenanigans constantly robbing Reimu of units not named Cirno/Rumia/Dai/Sanae. Reimu was the best character in the game for all of the original Scarlet and Mystic. Not having her alone made things harder for people, especially if they were bad at SRW games.

Also "slowly and steadily" my ass, it takes until Marisa learns Strike at around the PCB arc for Marisa to finally feel as good as Reimu. Emphasis on AS because Yukari's chapter is a brick wall Marisa is not equipped to handle. Her upgrade was so notable because of how it flipped the script and finally made her a better character overall.

For any map where you didn't need burst damage, there was also Magic Thruster to give you an MP based boost. The originals also seriously encouraged defensive play and huddling around strong support attackers/defenders due to the lack of EP spirits, which is why CB actively nerfed Support Attack and Crit (poor Alice).

There's rarely any case where you are desperate for instant morale in CB since there are few turn limited stages. You can sit on your ass and let Morale, SP or Music buffers to get your units maxed out and for the ones with turn limit before Eternal, you had frozen frogs, Shizuha and or P-defeat to get your slow units ready to attack.
The innate SP regen mechanic from newer SRW removed any urgency for that missing +5 on Aces.

If your goal is to just bum around and clear the map, you can just let Morale do all the work. When you're playing for LTC or opt for challenge runs (No Customization, No Upgrades, No Skill Purchases, what have you), sp/morale management does start to matter.

What are your thoughts on the cost system? I'm somewhat mixed with this. On one hand, it gives you more incentive to use the cheaper characters but on the other hand, it sucks when a lot of your favorite units are high cost.
