Dessa type worker MS was UC0108. F90 Cluster manga takes place in UC0121 or so. You can consider the OP's picture to be the militarized version of the Dessa type for combat data gathering, before being finalized and mass produced as the De'nan Zon.

It's not impossible for Buch to have salvaged Geara Doga MS as part of their secret technological buildup, but my understanding was that Buch took decades to develop their forces from scratch, as opposed to it being an continuation of Zeon MS tech.

The helmet itself is already very similar to the Geara Zulu. I could easily see an AMS-139 being used as the transition suit from Zeon to Buch

Developing their forces from scratch could just mean developing their own industrial base and designs rather than cobbling together leftovers or hijacking Feddie units. Every MS in UC is going to be derived from some foundation built by Zeon or derived from a Zeon unit on some level.

They wouldn't have necessarily had to miniaturize the whole Doga, just take a few Dogas, find some mechanical elements they liked then drop the rest and go from there. I'd liken it to how the Stg44 had influences on the AK and AR platforms, they have very minor similarities but they each derived something from the Stg44.

F90II can wear everything the F90 can that I've got, it's predominantly the same shape as the F90 without many real changes so it should have 100% compatibility even with N. I had mine done up in Jacket for a long time til just the other day where I switched it to Unit 2. F90II looks the best in it because its head is rad as fuck personally, but it's a little shame the other nicest feature of F90II (the radiator chest elements that progress to F91) is hidden with it on. Haven't thoroughly tested Cluster, since it obviously can't wear the chest I didn't actually bother trying the arm and leg units. Front skirts won't fit either since they are molded directly to the F90 front skirt shape.

They seem most interested in X/Y/Z in this manga so I just doubt we'll get a lot of the other packs now. I do hope so though. It would have been a good fit for this recent fight. I don't much care for the fights in Cluster though.

It's not ass, it's just a hard to use mission pack that plays against F90 strengths, also known as a typical FAG.

Anonymous No.23599878 [Report] >>23599883 >>23599887

not really, it going completely against F90's main virtue makes it worthless. You want defense? Other packs like K manage it without killing your mobility. Firepower? Not even close to the best. Mix of both? Again, straight up better options while being more mobile.
There's a reason the only thing of any worth from it was the machine cannons.
Anonymous No.23599882 [Report]
>>23599866
Yep, love F90II too. Funnily enough, F91 actually predates it and Cluster.
Also, I'm not sure if they would focus just on X/Y/Z, considering that the focus of the current arc is Buch stuff and the return of Verethragna.
>so it should have 100% compatibility even with N
Is it that surprising when even F80 is compatible with it (and honestly looks pretty cool with it)?
Anonymous No.23599883 [Report] >>23599898

It's a fine choice for suppressing guerilla groups or engaging in urban combat where attacks can come from any direction with predominantly smaller caliber ballistic ordinance. It's not like there are no areas where small scale MS/light armour and high mobility are minimized as strengths.

Also seeing its weaknesses would be cool too. Something doesn't have to be the best thing ever to be rad. So much of the point of these packs is just reaching for new arrangements and technological experimentation, some being dead ends or ineffective is part of the point. If we can see the extremely niche Cold type we might as well see the Jacket get called a sluggish pig and getting ejected after getting some fight scenes.

As a small aside the Crossbones end up adopting much thicker armour than their contemporaries in various areas so the idea of increasing armour on small scale MS wasn't so worthless.
Anonymous No.23599887 [Report] >>23599898 >>23599899

F90's main virtue is that it can swap in and out mission packs with minimum work needed.
Great mobility is neat, but if it was everything, Draig would've beaten it at the test.
Anonymous No.23599898 [Report] >>23599919
>>23599883
You want close combat in tight quarters? There's options specialized for that.
Take out guerillas? There's a better way of doing that than a heavy brick of a suit. You shoot them from the sky and kill whoever survives. Again, got a good option for that.
You do make a point about showing off its issues though, it's just rather hard to slot that in for Cluster where by that point it must have been years since it was tested and verified as a dead end. Even if the gang is in a situation where that's the only thing they have, F90 is better off without it. I could see some combo using its backpack though, nothing wrong with that part in principle.
Crossbone is also a very specific case because it's built around different paradigms and even with tougher armor it has stupidly high thrust.
>>23599887
Why are you acting so confident when you know fucking nothing?
F90's single defining feature is how freakishly light it is combined with performance that can take advantage of that. Modularity for the mission packs is a way of making further use of that and its nature as a test machine. This is repeated over and over again in multiple sources including FF and Cluster.
Fantastic mobility is exactly why it beat Draig and why it did it bare instead of using one of the packs available at the time. It's also what the Mars F90 focuses on: ditch the extensive hardpoint system, refine the core capability as an excellent all-rounder high mobility model and make it better suited to frontline combat. Then Mars Gundam manages to combine these, but that's besides the point.

>You want close combat in tight quarters?
I don't think the Hardygun would be my choice in an urban environment over the Jacket. Hell even for general garrison duty. If most of your threats aren't actually anything near your performance because of massive technological imbalances, you might as well just take the armour because the typical threat is likely to be some outdated explosive weapons from past wars in an ambush or surprise attack. F90J might be able to fly itself, but since all we have are blurbs about it that say the Minovsky Craft wasn't deemed good enough to offset the mobility loss we're lacking the real picture of its capabilities. Which is also kinda the point of wanting to see it too. As for why it'd be there, because they made some amount and things have a tendency of ending up places. A base on Earth having the parts still sitting around and being emergency deployed isn't really crazy.
>Crossbone is also a very specific case because it's built around different paradigms and even with tougher armor it has stupidly high thrust.
Absolutely, but the benefits of thicker armour are still true across the board. Even with their mobility, the Crossbones benefit a fair number of times from having armour thick enough to deal with ballistic weapons. As MS get smaller and lighter, smaller caliber ballistic weapons become more effective against them. All throughout the Formula era we see ballistic spam come back due to their efficacy. The Jacket is a reasonable attempt at exploring a counter to that and I think it's at least a little strange you seem to harbor some kind of actual disdain for its existence all based on a blurb that just says it wasn't particularly noteworthy, rather than outright bad or underperforming.

Also, the smaller the suit, the cheaper it is to cover it in anti-beam coating, not to mention that the presense of beam shields nerfs non-VSBR beam weaponry.
Anonymous No.23599957 [Report] >>23601117

Beam shields are a solid nerf to ballistic weaponry too, but it's a single plane defense with often a vulnerable emitter. And those machineguns cost pennies compared to beam rifles to produce and maintain. And thickening up armour to deal with those costs a lot less than a beam shield.

Funny how hard it is for factions in U.C. to find a balance in MS tech and they always go to extreme anti-ballistic or extreme anti-beam over 20-30 year cycles.

The-O almost got it right with dummy thick armor to stop ballistics, anti-beam coating to stop beams and a shit ton of thrusters for speed and maneuverability.

The downside was it was huge, costly, and outside of the hidden arms it didn’t have much armament
