Why did they let Twilight keep one of the school supplies instead of discarding it after the exam?

I like the idea that it was never supposed to work in the first place because the egg wasn't fertilized. As a result it was completely unprecedented and they just went with whatever Celestia gave the okay to.

Some people would say that the existence of Shining Armor is a contradiction to Twilight being a lonely loser but I say that Spike also is. Friendship is Magic is a somewhat remake of Rescue at Midnight Castle so the girls should have met him during their adventure like in the G1 movie.

To be fair she's not a lonely loser, she literally thinks she's too good for friends at the start. It's why she treats Spike kinda like shit.

Except, she's got the knowledge and research to back up her sense of intellectual superiority. Say what you will of Twilight, but she isn't a pseud, unlike the rest of us.

Membership to the Dunning-Kruger Summit Club can never be revoked. Anyone who's intellectually curious will forever remain trapped in a state betwen being very informed and very stupid. There's a lot that you know, but much more that you don't know, and the more that you know, the easier it is to convince yourself of your own intellect, so the easier it is to make yourself look really stupid by overstepping your own knowledge. Basically: she's smart, and that helps her, but she knows she's smart, and knowing that she's smart is usually what undoes her.

Exactly. This thread wasn't about sucking on Twilight's horn, but I gotta say that I admired her precisely for that. Bitch spent her entire life studying and gathering information that led her to predict and prepare for a tragedy she had no one to convince anyone of. Even (from her perspective) the Princess herself was mocking her. But she remained true to her principles and, armed with her knowledge and conviction, managed to stop an invasion and build a group of friends for herself. FiM Twilight was extremely based and peak marehood.

Bitch believed in a random fairy tale like a gullible child, nothing about it was logical. She didn't even attempt to make friends with the others, they fell into her lap and did all the work socializing with with her. She stumbled through everything unearned through sheer happenstance, she's a shitty mary sue.

To be fair I'd imagine it would've been a lot smoother if they'd gone with the original plan and had Nightmare Moon be the finale of the first season. Then she would've had time to actually earn all of that.

They should have, that's the point. It was literally enshrined in the royal palace. Discord dances around in the stained glass window that depicts all six of them purifying Luna.

It's a vital lesson for caring for all the little ponies when you're the ruler of Equestria. After all, Celestia once had a child too.

Kinda like Peter before becoming Spider-Man. He wasn't some meek soft spoken nerd like in modern portrayals. He got bullied because he was a standoffish dickhead who thought he was better than everyone else.
