Celestia is not that powerful. That does not mean she's useless. People hate her because they prop her up as omnipotent but in reality she's just big and old. Not even right about a lot of the things she preaches but having experience enough to know a lot. Her purpose as a guiding light until the heroes find their own way is enough.

She's also big and sexy and caring and kind and funny.

She got Warfed big time. She was set up as an all powerful goddess in the beginning of the show, and was stripped down to a parody of herself by the end of the series due to the atheists running the show who hate classic strong white semi religious leader types.

People who claim to see no difference in her portrayal from the beginning of the show to the end of the show, are either unironically autistic and unable to see changes in character, or, they're just haters who are in denial of who she was supposed to be.
