You can’t believe it.

The world of Equestria truly isn’t a good place anymore, lest you wouldn’t be doing this crappy job calling random ponies to sell them bullshit insurance plans they don’t need. But as if this wasn’t enough, somepony visibly decided that the donut you brought this morning and that you saved for your break was actually free for them to take, even if it you had your name written on it.

You didn’t think much of your coworkers, but you didn’t expect any of them to fall so low. Truly Manehattan has become a lawless city, which means it is up to you, Name Caller, to catch the subequine protozoa who performed this vile act of treason, and to MAKE THEM PAY. The rascal only touched your delicacy, leaving the rest of everypony’s lunches untouched, so this is gonna be personal.

You WILL find who dunnit
And you will bring them to donut justice! You'll demand they'll pay you AT LEAST TWO donuts

>You are the only one in the break room right now
>Only the 5 coworkers of your team regularly come around here, your manager included
>It is currently10:30 a.m.

>What do?

There's everypony's lunch in here alright, but you've got not drugs on you at this point on yourself. In fact, the reason you're pretty mad right now is that you daily serving of sugar and fat has been unexpectedly cut from you.

The picture is a doodle made by Parlor's 2-years-old. She finds it endearing in its unique horridness and framed it as a jest. 'He'll be an abstract artist when he grows up. Foal drawings usually are not THAT type of terrible' you remember her joking.

As for the lists of suspects, This is the bunch of schmucks stuck in this job with you.

>Stocks.
The manager. A jerk that has tried to hit on every single mare in the service and beyond. Doesn’t insist but tries again at very single conversation regardless. To his credit, you’ve called him an asshat to his face and there haven't been any consequences about it. He just ignores even the dirtiest names thrown at him, no matter how many times you do it. You and Parlor Pride make sure to come up with the most creative insults for him. Hopefully he’ll get fired for harassment and you can take his place someday.

>Parlor Pride.
She loves gossiping and always has a mean story to tell everypony else. Definitely the pony you like the most around here, even though she probably tells mean stuff about you behind your back too since she chats with everyone. You suppose that's fair game.

>Dial Nine.
Tech nerd. Somehow likes phones enough to enjoys this dead-end job. He's as boring as they come. There's probably somepony in Equestria that would enjoy hearing about the latest advances in non-magical telecommunications for hours on end, but that pony is not you. He's a decent lad otherwise, and usually helpful when needed.

>Thread Line.
The softest-spoken mare you’ve ever met. Too polite for your taste. Never starts any conversation with the rest of you and keeps to herself whenever she can. Seems deadly shy of everypony around her. The pet parrot Molly she always keeps around is more assertive than her. In fact, Molly once bit Stocks in the snout and he’s been staying clear of her demure owner since then, as she otherwise probably wouldn't know how to shake off the manager's moves on mares.

And finally...

>Syrupy Sweet.
Nicknamed ‘The bitch’ by you. Bumped into your desk and threw all your files on the ground on your first day, and pretended she didn’t have the time to help you pick them up. The two of you have since then developed a history of petty incivilities against each other. Always haughty and insufferably peppy. She has Stocks on her side, as she's been leading him on for as long as you've been here. Stealing your donut could very well be the latest entry of your feud, but without any kind of proof she’ll never admit anything.

The simple solution is to yell at Nine til he admits anything and buys us treats to make us fuck off. Being the only happy pony in this nightmare scenario, he can handle it. Or we can do the same to Line, but only if we can distract the parrot somehow. Maybe make an origami parrotess and bully Line while her oh-so-unfaltering protector futilely tries to woo the soulless figurine.
Or do we really care abour justice? With no acid at hoof, it makes everything much more difficult. Are there security cameras? Access keycards? Are the calls being recorded, or at least can we find out when everypony made calls? Or we can try the old impostor trick and ask Parlor to claim the credit for the crime hoping that it'll make the real perpetrator jealous.

You're so mad you could just rape everything in the office. That is unfortunately impossible because of your manager, however, as one can't rape the willing.

You're sure this Syrupy's fault somehow, but… You're not sure yet you're any matter of a sleuth and that you can prove it. How much do you even care about justice, actually? Justice is a good excuse to bully somepony while still having the moral high ground, right? Maybe you just want a donut or two actually. Perhaps you could just go accuse Dial and shout him into sharing his dessert… mmh… bland yogurt, from what you see into the fridge? Nah. The nerd's going to buy you something.

You walk back to the open space and go straight to Dial Nine's desk. He rarely leaves his seat even on breaks.
"Dial! I bet it's you who stole my donut!" You bark at him as a greeting.
"Wh-what?" The colt stutters. "I mean, no! I didn't steal anything. Why are you accusing me?"
"Hey, I'm the victim here, okay? Somepony stole my treat from the fridge. So I really think the culprit should buy me a couple for compensation."
"B-but it's not me." Dial confusedly retorts. "I mean, I couldn't have. I arrived earlier than you this morning. I didn't eve know you had a donut for yourself."

The scrub is right. He's always half an hour early, arriving at around 7:30. It was around 7:50 when you checked in and put the donut in the fridge. And Dial didn't budge from his chair since then.
Besides, there isn't the faintest smell of donut near him.

>What do?

And with that, I'll be comming back tomorrow

Then it's a locked room mystery: how did he steal it without leaving his desk? Maybe there's a secret compartment in the fridge, with a hidden lid and a remotely controlled claw.
Why does he even get to work so early if not to provide himself an alibi? And why did he notice when we arrived? Does he spy on everypony? He may still be useful if he does.

"Mmh… So you arrived early specifically to have an alibi for your deed?" You squint your eyes at the colt. "How devious… You could even have used that time to build a hidden compartment in the fridge to hide the donut!"
"A-ahem…" He chuckles uncomfortable. "Please don't be ridiculous, Name. I swear I didn't see or do anything. I got here and didn't go to the break room since then."
He ponders for a second, probably wondering how to stop being involved in your donut quest.
"Let's see, after me, it's you who arrived in the office." He says. "Then Parlor. Then Stocks and Thread arrived at around the same time, and Finally Syrupy. Oh! And I think Spotless did a round of cleaning a little before Syrupy arrived actually."

"Interesting." You perk up. "Did it look like she had picked up the remains of a wrongly eaten donut, by any chance?"
"Woah, uh, how could I know that?" Dial Nine scratches his head. "But she did take out a trash bag from the break room, if I remember correctly."
"Mmh… I see." You nod. "Thanks for letting me know."

The stallion did end up having some stuff to tell you, even if you still have no solid clue about who could the culprit be. Maybe just putting some pressure on your coworkers is the way to go and they'll end up telling you enough you can then figure out the truth.
Speaking of which, there's a mare in particular that you know will strongly react to being put on the grill.

You approach Thread Line with a confident smile. Probably because she heard your conversation with Dial Nine, she sinks on her seat even more than usual as you come closer.

"Hey Thread." You purr at her. And before she can even react. "Did anypony ever tell you that you're the cutest mare from this side of Manehattan?"
"Huh?" She jumps on her seat and blushes instantly. "N-name, what do you…"
"Gosh you're adorable." You lean on her desk. "And such a fun mare to hang around too. And you might also be the smartest pony I've ever met on top of that."

"Hey!" You hear a most despicable voice behind you. "Talking about me, aren't you?"
The hairs on your neck stand on ends in sheer disgust, knowing damn well that you're gonna face the usual disgustingly fake politeness and happiness of the bitch.

"Syrupy. Hello." You turn and bare your teeth at Syrupy Sweet in a mockery of a smile. "Not minding your own business as usual I see."

"Oh, I just heard you ranting at Dial, so I figured you're probably having a bad day and making it everypony else's problem like the mature mare you are." Syrupy chimes, her usual haugthy smile plastered on her face. "So I thought I might as well check on you and hear what kind of antic you'll be annoying us with today."

"Those are some big words… for a filthy donut thief!" You accuse the smug unicorn.
"A donut thief you say?" Syrupy mockingly raises an eyebrow. "Sorry, I've got nothing to do with that. What would I even do with a donut? I keep that kind of food away from my regimen, which is how I can have this nice figure you have in front of your eyes. In fact, you should take this as an opportunity to start a diet, Name. Everpony can see you could lose some weight, you know?"

"Yeah, I get that you gotta keep your insides clean." You retort. "Stocks wouldn't like it otherwise, right? Did he put another 'pearl necklace' in you recently?"
"OH! You…!" Syrupy looks delightfully offended. "You… you whore-mouthed skank!"

The blue mare is so outraged she doesn't even have anything more to add, and turns hoof to walk away. Now that was a sweet victory. The red of anger on Syrupy's cheeks was even better of a treat than any donut, but what would be really swell would still be to enjoy both.

As for Thread Line, the poor mare is left shaking on her seat, looking like she had witnessed a horrid display of violence.
Her bird is here too, now standing on her desk and looking up at you defiantly. You've never been on bad terms with Molly before, but right now she seems to believe you could end up being mean to her owner. According to Stocks, the bird's bite is swift and a mean one in such cases.

It proves nothing. In fact, a diet would only make Syrupy more exposed to sudden outbursts of uncontrollable hunger. She's still our prime suspect. And even if she didn't steal anything, well maybe she should have?! A treat-named sugar-themed pony refusing her destiny by disowning good food like that, it may be a more horrible and twisted crime against the natural order than any theft. It's almost as bad as if we would withhold judgement because we were afraid of birdy violence, imagine how inherently wrong would that be. It kinda makes us feel bad for Surupy: she's everything that's wrong with Equestria if she stole the donut, and she's everything that's wrong with Equestria if she didn't. Poor mare. Does she happen to have any blood sugar level problems, by the way? Both because it would explain her behavior and because that's what one gets for betraying Celestia in his heart and sniffing out the divine spark within.
Anyways, what Line thinks of it? Does she have a passion that she would never give up on?

"Hey, do you know who ate my donut?" You address the bird.
"Bwak! Ate your donut! Ate your donut!" The bird mindlessly repeats your words at you, flapping her wings in defiance.

You let out a sigh. Since the bird won't be confessing any crime, you'll have deal with the whimpy owner.
"Sorry you had to hear that, Thread." You attempt to cool things off a little with the shy pony and her feathered defender. "But Syrupy needed to be told. You know, the fact she's on a diet proves nothing, it's the contrary even. Starving herself would just give her the craving to wolf down an unattended donut on a whim, right? She's definitely my number one suspect. But you know, there's a world where she didn't steal my donut, but maybe she should have if she didn't. Think about it. From her name and mark, she must have been blessed with a sweet tooth by destiny itself. Stealing a donut might be a crime against law, but a diet and NOT stealing a donut could be a crime against nature itself! Believe me, her ass would be even nicer with an extra bit of pudge. Truly this is tragic. It means that whatever Syrupy did, she's objectively wrong and a terrible pony in all cases."

It seems your soothing rambling has managed to convince Molly that you're no imminent threat at least. Thread Line on the other hoof still looks very bothered, avoiding your glance and fidgeting on her seat.

"But hey, what do you think about all that?" You smile at Thread. "Do you have a passion? One you'd never give up on?"
"Uhm… I-I really lie…like sewing!" She declares in a stutter, still radiating anxiousness.

You sigh internally. How can a pony be such a mess all the time? Actually, scratch that. She's even more of a mess than usual. You're not sure you'll hear anything useful from this mare.

Thread Line really is a doormat. Her lunch was still there, so if she is involved, it's as an accomplice. Be gentle with the mare. And hope Molly doesn't repeat anything too salacious about Syrupy. If Stocks or Parlor hears, the whole office will know what you think about that bitch's ass.
Parlor Pride probably isn't going to be a reliable source, but if she knows something, she'd probably spill the beans.
Stocks could've taken the donut for some dumb innuendo. Since him and Syrupy arrived together, they're going to back each other up unless you have proof, back up, or some means to persuade them.

Also, who is Spotless?

"That's… cool." You merely say, as you feel like too many words could startle the mare in front of you. "Anyway, can you keep an eye out for any clues, please? My passion right now is to catch a donut thief."
"Mm-mmh…" Thread nods meekly as a response.
"Cool. If you can help me find the culprit, I might just be happy enough to give you a kiss!" You declare before walking away, and then realize such a promise may potentially not be very enticing for the shy mare.

Regardless, the next pony on your list for interrogation is Parlor Pride that you see walking in the direction of the break room.

"Hey, girl!" You hail her with a big smile. "How is it going!"
"Name Caller!" She grins back at the you. "The kids didn't wake up before 7 for once so I'm off a very good start. What about you?"
"For me today's just the Worst." You exaggerate a frown "I just realized somepony stole the donut that I had left in the fridge this morning!"

"WHAT!?" Parlor blurts in shared outrage. "The sheer Nerve of some ponies!"
"I know, right!" You nod, feeling glad that your rage is finally validated by somepony else. "Some folks are just freaking jerks!"
"And you even had you name on it!" Parlor nods. "I saw it when I put my lunch in the fridge. It must have been somepony that arrived after me."

According to Dial Nine, Parlor arrived just after you. Then it was Thread and Stocks at the same time, then the bitch. But there was also…

"That… Or do you think it could have been Spotless?" You ponder aloud. "I heard from Dial she went into the break room. Since she isn't part of our team, perhaps she thought she could steal my donut without anypony suspecting her!"
"Oh, don't you dare, Name!" Parlor shakes her head. "Spotless is a treasure of a janitor. She would Never do something like that!"
"Come on, Parlor, you're just on her side because she tells you stories from all around the building."
"Exactly!" She proudly nods. "And that's a very good reason. Being on the janitor's good side is even more important that the approval of your manager if you ask me. All the big guns are too self-absorbed to even pay attention to her presence, as so she hears absolutely everything that goes around. Keep that in mind, Name, good janitors collect ALL the dirt."

ALL the dirt? Well, if Stocks and Syrupy have ever used the janitor's closet for unprofessional purposes like booping each other, Spotless would be inclined to help.
Parlor might be lying about eating it, but clearly she saw your donut, corroborating its existence. If we can get dirt on Stocks and Syrupy we can get that dick in a tight spot without having to listen to him rank everyone by flank again.

If Dial has a recorder, maybe he'd part with it for a favor or a kiss. Easier to prove stuff when it's not just your word against someone else's.

"Do you think we could have a word with Spotless, then?" You ask. "Maybe she has the information I need to solve this case. Maybe we could even record the proof she gives us!"
"Mmh, if we're lucky, we can catch her on her break." Parlor nods after a glance at the clock. "Come on. Let's take the elevator! But forget about recording her. Nopony likes having their words captured and used by somepony else. Like I said, we better keep ourselves in Spotless's good graces."

Welp, too bad. You also suppose it's also too soon to ask the janitor about possible unlawful use of her closet by Stocks and Syrupy for dirty, dirty business. Still, you take the elevator all the way to the rooftop with Parlor Pride. Once you come out in the open air, your friend turns around, and as you imitate her you see the janitor mare having a smoke on top of the elevator shaft.

"Spotless honey!" Parlor hails her with a smile. "How is it going today?"
"Hi Parlor." She replies. "Weather's nice today, so I'm pretty good."
"Sorry to bother you with this." Parlor continues "but my friend Name Caller has an issue she thinks you can help with."
"Hmm? What is it?"
"Well, I heard you did a round of cleaning in our office earlier." You explain. "The thing is… somepony stole a donut that I had put in the fridge this morning, and I think it might have disappeared around the time you came in. Did you notice anything particular in the break room when you cleaned it?"

"So somepony stole a donut, huh?" Spotless ponders. "That might explain the mess I found."
"What do you mean?" You ask, full of hope.
"When I cleaned the break room at your floor, I found the fridge ajar." She recounts. "Not only that, but there were lots of crumbs in front of it, and even in it! It looked like some pastry had been eaten directly in the fridge. In hindsight, I think it could have been donut crumbs. I was wondering what kind of disrespectful pig could leave the commons in that state, but maybe it was your thief that was on the run somehow."

Spotless chuckles.
"Sorry. It seems like I unwillingly helped clean a crime scene. I even sent the trash bags away already too."

It does sound like somebody on a diet, but the timing is wrong. Maybe Line has an animalistic side we didn't know about? Or Stocky is finally losing it? Or maybe we have somebody unaccounted for, like a stray foal hiding in vents. Ask Spotless if she heard any strange noises when she approached the door. Were there any similar cases in other parts of the building? How long does she think the fridge was opened?

Based on Dial's word, this eliminates Syrupy as a suspect. Stocks is our main suspect now, plus if anyone would know if Syrupy was around before hand, it would be him. If it was really a mess though, it could've been Molly.

"Have you seen anything else in the break room?" You ask. " Strands of hair… or feathers maybe? Heard any strange noise? "
"Nope. None of that." Spotless shakes her head. "Well, no more than usual, not in any unusual spot either."
"Was somepony leaving the break room when you arrived? Did you see who was on their seats?"
"Uhm… I didn't check on everyone in the office." She shrugs. "I just saw this grey dude with the glasses since his desk is close to the break room. Otherwise, I didn't see anypony else."
"Hom long do you think the fridge was left open?"
"Mmh… Not too long. It was still cold inside. A few minutes probably?"

So unless somepony lied, Syrupy has nothing to do with the theft. Curses. You were already thinking of a dozen ways to exercise rightful retribution on her.
"Thanks for telling me all that." You tell Spotless. "In that case, I've got one last coworker to have a chat with."

After wishing a good day to the pegasus, you come down to your floor through the elevator, and head towards the manager's office.
"If you don't mind, I'll let you handle him on your own." Parlor tells you.
"No probs." You nod. "I wouldn't want to deal with him without a good reason either."
"Good luck on your quest for justice, Name." Your friend walks away with a chuckle.

After knocking, you hear his voice invite you in, so you push the door of his office.
Earlier, one name immediately came to your mind when you heard the words pig. Stocks.

"Hello Name Caller." He greets you with his signature toothy grin. "Always a pleasure to see you. We should see each other more in fact!"

You wonder if you could pull off a bluff on him.
"Stocks. I need to talk to you about something that happened this morning." You start. "But wait… Are these crumbs that I see on you suit? I think they're donut crumbs…"
"Crumbs?" The stallion starts to look at himself in mild concern. He is the kind to vainly make sure not a speck of dust lands on his expansive clothes.
"Well, I don't see anything, Name." He says after inspecting himself thoroughly. "Could you maybe come closer and point them to me? You can touch my body if you want…"

Either Stocks is genuinely oblivious to the donut case, or he's very good at hiding it. Though, the Stocks you know is pretty much incapable of subtlety.

No matter where you look at in the room, there's no evidence of any donut munching of any kind around here.
"Mmh… Forget that." You tell Stocks. "To be honest, the reason I'm here is that I'm in a bit of a pinch right now, and I think you are the stallion who can help me out of this predicament."
"Oh, b-but of course!" Stocks perks up, pleasantly surprised that you aren't giving him the cold shoulder as usual. "Please do tell, as your manager it is my duty to help you."

"Alright, then what I need is information." You continue. "I heard that you went into the break room with Thread Line when she arrived this morning. It that what happened?"
"That would be true." He nods.
"Can you tell me how it went exactly, please?" It's been a long time you haven't unironically tried to use your charms, so you hope your expression isn't too ridiculous. Thankfully Stock is an audience that is easy to please. "This is really important."
"Well, I just wanted to say hi to her actually, so I followed her in the break room. You know how she's always lacking confidence despite being such an amazing mare. I really wanted to give her a few words of encouragement, to make sure she feels wanted, you know? And today we actually could have a good conversation! I was really glad for it. She's always so hard to take out of her shell, but this morning I was able to tell her all the good things about her that I believe she deserves to hear. But… may I ask why you need to know this?"

Seems like your charms aren't enough to completely shut down this guy's brain.

Dude's right eye has been kinda wonky the last two posts. You okay, bruh? Having a stroke under that desk?

I feel like the sensible thing to do would just be to tell our manager, who seems like a genuinely nice dude, that someone stole our donut and we are upset. Doesn't sound like something Name Caller would do tho...

Maybe we misplaced our donut? We just can't figure out what we did with it and we were hoping he might have seen it. It had my name on it, and I could've swore I put it in the fridge, but it wasn't there! Maybe we can win some sympathy. Probably want to try not to sound too much like we think he's a donut thieving, mareizing, prettyboy stallionwhorse while we tell him though. If we can manage it.

You sure hope Stocks isn't up to any funny business under that desk. Though, what you see on his face are his routinely retarded expressions, not anything more.

"So…If you had a good talk with Thread..." You continue. "That means Molly was busy? Busy eating a donut, perhaps?"
" I wouldn't know where the bird was at the time, but indeed it wasn't with Thread." Stocks says. "You know, I'd never force such a fine mare to dismiss her loyal pet, but I do think it has been keeping fine gentlecolts from getting closer to Thread on occasions. Like I said, it had been ages I didn't have such a good talk with her."

"Mmh… I see." You wonder about trying to phrase the next part more carefully, but in the end you decide to go straight to the point. "Stocks! Somepony stole the donut I had left in the break room. I put it in the fridge when I arrived. It even had my name on it but when I check the fridge a few minutes ago it was all gone. Are you the one who ate my Celestia-damned donut!? Or then do you know anything that would help me find who did it?"
"I would never eat a mare's donut without her consent." Stocks calmly states after a slight moment of surprise. "Sorry, I didn't even look in the fridge this morning either so I can't help much. Thread Line had all my attention when I talked with her, so it's like the rest of the world didn't exist. But I do remember her face being framed in white light, as though we were sharing a date under the moon… so the fridge was probably open while we talked."

Hah, I like this guy. He’s just like me! Except successful in life and he probably actually has sex with mares… Bastard. Never mind, Name is right, this dude sucks ass. Fuck him.

So, do we really trust this guy’s testimony? Might not like him, but I kinda believe him when he says he was completely occupied with the cute little mare in front of him. That fucking asshole stallion. She’s an ugly whorse anyway. I mean, we’re a pissed off mare, so despite the fact that we hate the guy we have to be jealous that he was looking at other mares, right? And we have to hate the other mare for catching the attention of the guy we hate. Isn’t that how this works? Anyway…

Would that sneaky little bitch really steal our donut? It’d almost be the perfect crime wouldn’t it? I mean who would expect her. Goody little four-horseshoes like that who never even talks to anyone. It’s always the quiet ones. And she has that bird to protect her too. Before we go chew her ass out though (would be kinda hot) we would have to get her away from that damn bird.

Are we sure it couldn’t have been anyone else though? According to the timeline we got from Dial and in conjunction with Pretty Boy’s testimony and the janitor’s claim that the fridge was open, the crime would have to have happened sometime after we showed up and before he sexually harassed Thread. The two did show up at around the same time, but Dial didn’t say they showed up at the exact same time, so there could have been enough time to do the deed before the other got here this morning. Stocks followed Thread into the break room, but how fast? Did he dash in there as soon as he saw her dumb fat ass, or did he see her go in there and go in a few moments later? You don’t think it could actually be our girl Parlor, do you? She wouldn’t do that to us, right? It couldn’t possibly have been some other pony? I got it! This dumb stallion was probably staring at Thread’s pretty little mouth if he wasn’t looking at her fat butt the whole time. Did he see any crumbs on her mouth? Frosting, perhaps? No way this perv wouldn’t remember that.

"I say you can eat your own ass!" You retort, as telling Stocks to eat Your ass would be an offer he'd take you on. Since you're pretty much done with him, you then walk out of his office.
"Have a good day!" The manager politely tells you as you do.

Before you confront the pony you believe is the most likely culprit, you do a little detour around Parlor Pride's desk where she's sitting. There, you see no trace of donut munching, neither in the bin nor anywhere else.
"So, how's the case going?" Parlor asks.
"I'm on the edge of breaking it." You say. "I just need to find the right time to get a confession out of my suspect."
"Oooh… Sounds like a session of Name Calling is brewing." The older mare chuckles. "Say, I think treating the team to a café after work could be a good punishment to squeeze out of this thief as a punishment for their deed. That's just my suggestion of course…"
"Mmh… We'll see after I deal with them."

You'd like to have Molly out of the way to talk to Thread Line.
And it looks like you're in luck. Just now, the grey mare goes to the restroom, and after telling a word to her bird, Molly goes back to her owner's desk on her own, leaving the shy pony unsupervised, in a secluded room where you could be alone with her…

I feel so bad about doing this. We’re a bad pony, lmao. So, we got stalls in there, or are we just busting in before she has a chance to close the door and locking it behind us?

If we got stalls, maybe we just casually walk in and start an uncomfortable conversation while she’s on the pot. I heard you talked to Stocks this morning. Slowly turn up the heat and place ourselves between her stall and the bathroom door in case she tries to bail. Try to break her and get a confession. J’accuse!

Go to the bathroom and talk to Thread line privately in the stalls lock the stall door we're in with her and gently tell her we uncovered new information that she was in the break room with Stocks prier to our donut disappearing if she has something to say now is the time it's between the two of them subtly flirting with her by having one hoof stroking her mane and the other cupping the side of her face pulling her closer to her body mention if she was the donut thief because she wanted to get our attention and spend time getting to know her since she so shy to talk to us face to face then we'll flattered because she certainly succeeded on that front here we are alone together.

You almost feel guilty picking on Thread. It's a real shame the culprit might be the quiet, shy girl rather than the bitch. However, justice demands retribution, so the only mercy she'll get is that you'll try to be quick about this.

Quiet as death itself, you follow the grey mare into the restroom, and quickly identify which stall she's in. Getting splashed is not your fetish, so you wait for her to finish. As soon as the door opens, you step forth, push Thead back in while she's too surprised to oppose you, get in with her, and lock the door behind.

"N-name?" She sounds terrified. "W-what are you d-doing?"
"Sorry Thread, but I uncovered new information that I just need to share with you." You tell her, menacingly. "It seems you were the last person to see my donut alive, but then something happened… I heard you had a conversation with Stocks this morning, right?"
"I… Y-yes." She admits. "B-but please, let m-me out maybe?"
"But isn't that strange?" You continue, unphased by the mare begging for mercy. "Usually, Molly will get in the way of our dearest manager when he tries to converse with you. Isn't that, right?"
"I-I…"

And there, realizing that you impeccable deduction skills have her cornered in a toilet, Thread Line breaks into tears, overwhelmed by the unfathomable extend of her guilt.
"I'M SO SORRY!" She wails. "It was me! Molly climbed in the fridge when she saw your donut, and before I could stop her, Stock came and he… and he…" The mare sobs. "It was horrible! He wouldn't stahp talking and talking and talking! He's the worst! But what's even worst is that by the time he left Molly had eaten your donut. I'm so so-*sob* So sorry—y-y-y-y…!"

Whoa that's a creepy sinister smile right there. At least now Name Caller knows the truth and this whole thing was the manager Stock and her pet Molly's fault not Thread line she was trying to stop it but Stock got in her way.

She feels really bad about it so wrap our hooves around her into a comforting hug and give her a sloppy passionate kiss line gave us valuable Intel after all so let's replace her sadness with something that can give her joy"Thread line thank you for coming clean to me and it's okay I forgive you since you didn't wanted this to happen in the first place I'll have a word with Stock later for his part in all of this and believe me he's going to get it". "If you're hesitant to believe I've accepted your apology then perhaps this will prove it hope you'll enjoy your reward as I promises, Mmmh".

>"Bwak! Ate your donut! Ate your donut!
Could be mockery. But why? Have we done anything bad to Molly? Can she read?
If there's no hidden personal vendetta against us, then it's a case of an undertrained service animal's misbehavior. Was Molly always a threat to everypony's food, or something happened to her today that that made her abdicate her duty and choose a life of crime instead? Parlor's suggestion is perfectly appropriate both for feeding our immediate hunger for justice and for soothing Thread's guilt, but can anything be done to prevent it from happening again? Maybe there are ponies who train service animals professionally.

"But why! Why did Molly do it!" You ask to the mess of a mare. "Couldn't she read that it had my name on it?"
"I'm sorry-y-y-y…" Thread continues to bawl. "She understands some words, b-but I never got her to learn how to read properly."

"Did I do anything to Molly, for her to commit such an act of villainy against me?"
"N-no!" Thread shakes her head. "It's just that it was a… a very tasty looking donut. I was about to reign Molly in, but then Stocks… And then Molly… And then you… I-I was just too ashamed to tell you the truth. Please forgive me. Please forgive M-Molly…"

It's been several months you've been working with the mare and her bird, and this is the first occurrence of such an incident, even though you've left similar treats in the fridge on occasions. Now, you can just take you Parlor's suggestion and make sure you all get a nice pastry out of this. This should help Thread calm down too.
However, all of this intrigue is making you feel a bit feisty, and as blood pumps into your veins the taste of Thread's lips starts to seems even more appetizing that the flavor of any donut.
Or maybe you could come up with another kind of reparation to ask Thread Line.

Thank you all for playing, whether you're satisfied by this ending or invested enough to be angry about it, I had a good time running this little adventure.

Though, if you don't mind, I would appreciate to gather a bit of feedback. What was in my mind doing this little story was to see how viable AI generated images were for supporting a quest.

Here's the critical thoughts I gathered
>AI is good enough for visibly different characters. While their consistency varies from one gen to the other, with a specific enough design they can be recognizable enough. Doing slight or subtle appearance alteration (without informing it with text) is probably not viable though
>Background consistency is basically 0. Unless inpainting the character in an existing image, the scale, style, and coherence of space is basically nonexistent between two images. Two 'office' backgrounds rarely look like they could realistically belong to the same place.
>Scenes with several characters are longer to pull off, and usual have additional issues (character not exactly looking where they should, bad scale of the height/size between characters)
>Different 'styles' (cartoony, greyscale) are easy enough to pull off
>At least to my taste, each character looks good, and more pleasing to my eye than what I could pull off without AI
>Simple, 1 charater image take minutes to make, complex images require longer, with usually between 20 minute to 1 hour compositions with several characters. I may get better at this over time, though.
>AI pics are good enough to flesh out a scene, but can hardly convey information on their own
>The AI model I'm using and the way I'm using is biased towards mare and smut. I believe one can feel it even in non-smut pics.
>I didn't expect people to come nag about ai in the thread, but at least one did. I suppose I should expect that. Fortunately, they got bored fast enough if properly ignored.

For the ones that don't deal with my personal taste, would you agree with these statements? Is there any other comment/criticism that would come to your mind about the use of AI images?

About the the joined image and to explain how a complex shot went : For the final pic, first the background was ai generated with 1 character, loosely expanded, then all the team was generated 1 by one, then pasted together for the final shot, then smoothed over with ai again. This took more time than I expected but I couldn't entirely be focussed on it. Still probably over 1 hours of actual generating/editing

AI is just fine for quests imo, especially if they're the difference between actually having pics or text-only.
Don't worry about the anti-AI tards, some people are completely mindbroken by AI and will shit their pants if they see a single generated pixel, you'll see them every time you post anything AI related.

Woah I did not see that one coming so the author of this story thread was you Growfag man you certainly blew my mind up with this surprising twist I'm impressed. So you did this as a way to get practice on using Al images to see if you can apply it to your quests. Well this is certainly a major upgrade step from your drawing of images in a thread quest and I love it it brings out the unique background graphics and how precisely detail and accurate the pony characters can be with the expressions and actions they'll do the story becomes cool and very curiously fascinating invested to see how the plot of the quest is going from here. I say you should continue using it for your quests like you said it makes it easier to put an image in your quests and gives us viewers of these threads an incentive attraction of whether or not to take part of this game of yours plus using Al images for lewd scenes makes the scenes hot and sexy. Looking forward to playing your next questing thread Growfag and good to have you back and that you're doing well.

Well, didn't expect Growfag to be behind this mask. Color me surprised. Know you wanted an assessment from those that don't deal with your preferences, but may as well add my thoughts that don't involve too much of that, or at least at the start.

>AI is good enough for visibly different characters.
>Back consistency is basically 0.
Matches my experience with AI so far as well. With a good enough prompt and model/lora, you can get a consistent character, but damn if you try to have the same background.
>Scenes with several character are longer to pull off.
>Easy 'styles' to pull off.
Seems about right. AI has gotten much better with several characters over the past year, but it's still got a ways to go for consistency in that space. Although, styles are not only incredibly easy to pull off, but also other artist styles to the point where you can sometimes mix and match.
>At least to my taste, each character looks good, and more pleasing to my eye than what I could pull off without AI
Call me biased, but actually prefer your own drawings compared to AI. Sure, AI might get things like perspective right somewhat consistently with the right setup, but there's a certain charm to your style of sketch/drawings that can't be beat that's more fun to see. But if you don't feel up to that, then anon is right in that it's better to have AI images in a quest than have no images whatsoever. Even something as minimal as AI art of how a character looks can go a long way.
>AI model bias
Which model did you use out of curiosity?
>AI nagging
About expected. Fortunately, nagging about AI isn't that much of a problem in my experience in quests online, so not much to worry there.
>Comments/Criticism
May be just me, but would've preferred a more cartoony style than the 3d look. As it stands, it has the distinct look of being AI generated from the glossy look you typically see from ai images, which is personally off putting. The look can be countered with negative prompting and the right artist style choice though.

Also, because I know and share your tastes, generating crotchboobs is going to be a tricky endeavor if you plan to use it that way. Best way I found to generate it is by using the NoobAI model and jury rigging my own Lora on it personally. May be a better lora or model for it, but that's just my experience on it. Might get better luck with image to image generation.
