It was pretty great if you didn't focus on social media or 4chan at all. I joined in 2010-2011, it was possibly the most content we ever had. So many fan animations, comics, etc coming out daily. Fimfiction was a cesspit of scum and villainy but we loved it, and the askblogs went freaking hard, with molestia, that one where rarity is a sadist, and many more.

It was fun and eventful. There was something for everybody. Even if most fandom retards annoyed you, it was possible to find a fraction of like-minded people which wasn't slow and dead.

the poni blogs on tumblr were fun to look through, but i never had the balls to reply to them because i always got called out as an underage the hand full of times i spoke here
