It basically follows the industry model of making Standard Hollywood Movie #1,857 and cramming it into a branded container. It has all the usual traits, such as casting famous people (live-action actors, pop stars, etc.) instead of actual voice actors, and a writing style full of quips and ironic distance and 4th-wall winking that seems allergic to the kind of sincerity and sense of unreality that bring a setting like MLP to life
I remember feeling like Pinkie's silliness was the only thing that made the movie actually feel like MLP for a few moments. I was clinging to her the whole time like a lifering, trying not to drown in the ocean of cynical shit
Tempest carried that movie so hard it is unreal.
>>42290346Pretty much exactly what happened. They had a better script, then a retarded woman from Hasbro didn't understand it and told them to make it generic and stupid enough for a monkey to follow.
Still haven't watched this movie sober, and I don't think I ever will.
It is a fun watch when you're drunk, though.
Movie became shit for me when a random jobber beat the queens.
Like seriously wtf?!
>>42289803 (OP)Still better than the G% movie
