Spike was accepted because he knew his place. The creatures are just a badly written political mouthpiece that turns ponies into white American people and says that other races are so different that they’re basically like other species that are fundamentally incapable of living among the ponies.

I know 4chan’s got a lot of racists, and I don’t mind that because it’s better than these sites that censor everyone, but just to be clear about my opinion, I don’t think different races have anything in common with the species differences. Different cultures? Maybe. But the species have their own cultures on top of the innate differences.

So it’s a mess of a metaphor, and hammering it in THAT much, even to the point of making fun things from the show, like saying “everypony,” into the equivalent of casually racist expressions that some old person might say. Like, what the fuck were they thinking?!

G5 did it SO much better!!! I have to be honest that I was so sick of the idea of doing an allegory for racism by the time that movie came out that I just hated it, but now that I can see it in a retrospective way, it was just better in all ways. The pony types aren’t that fundamentally different. We may not have inherent abilities between races IRL, but when it comes to flight and magic, that can just be used to symbolically talk about how everyone has something special about them and stuff. And having them not have access to the magic or flight until they got together was an added bonus.

Plus, the “ponies as white people” was so fucking weird, it’s good we finally got a Black pony in the form of Misty. I mean, seriously, what the fuck were they thinking with that insinuation? Twilight is basically some fundamentalist religious extremist imperialist, assuming that no other culture knows of “Friendshipism” and that the “savages” need to be indoctrinated. I’m so glad her evil Empire failed.

I think so. It almost sounds like the she would’ve been the Sandbar of the group and that the other creatures would’ve formed the group with her. I’d have to find the leak again, and even then, we don’t have the full thing so a lot of it is speculation, but yeah, I think it would’ve been something like that.

Cozy was said to be the hardest to get to understand friendship because she comes from a strange town or something. So that almost makes it sound like she’d be the equivalent of Twilight.

I’m realizing how a lot of this sounds as I’m writing it, and it’s making me want to go look for that leak again. I’ll check in a bit and post it here if I find it.
