discord is simply disliked among many here due to there being a bit of rivalry between the sites, and historically there's been projects that started out well here, later moved to discord for ease of coordination and ultimately fell apart due to the typical discord channel interpersonal drama.
some people still really hate eqg despite the fact that it's been more than 10 years since, and will take any opportunity to make that known.
and well, every character has its fans, and for every fan group there's outsiders that can't stand it.
