Two series of posts in just a single week? Goodness sake, I'm going to wear-out my allotment of them before the year's up at this rate. (Nevermind the fact that I used to post a bundle of photos here practically every day once upon a time, but that's besides the point).
Our friendly neighborhood Deeraw was out for a walk around the 'Heights, and swung by to see how I was doing. As luck would have it, I was raring for another test of my Aperture-branded camera, and they made for an excellent subject when cast against a more-natural environment.
Took me a bit to sift through my ancient Landmarks for a suitably-natural 'site to share, but fortunately one of my old standbys from photoshoots' past is still open to those who wish to walk through its woodsy splendor. Perfect for that ancient, alpine forest look... Provided (You) know how to use the foliage to your advantage, at least.

This meadow might look utterly picturesque when viewed as it stands, buuut I'll admit to some trickery behind the camera. Had to get rather crafty with how to frame this one, as while this island looks like a gorgeous font of nature's purity at first glance, it shouldn't come as any real surprise that two-legs have staked their claim here long before our arrival.
A few of them took the hint and built thematically-appropriate cabins in these woods, but of course, those were the minority. Modern-looking homes and other unnatural sights cluttered what would've otherwise been nature at its finest. I suppose (You) can't expect much tact or taste from those two-legged giants most of the time, barring a few exceptions.

Regardless, I really do like how this one turned out. Dee had such an excellent pose to pair with my requests as well, kudos to them for thinking of it on-the-spot.

Was drawing a little late by this point, despite what the Windlight of this 'take might tell (You), so I settled on our final photo being a simple trot down the forest's rocky roads.

Please excuse the rather unsightly shadows in various areas of this photo. Was really wrangling with my settings to try and correct them, yet those strangely dark places simply wouldn't budge.
Fortunately, I discovered what the problem was after focusing my attention on my camera's built-in "Shadows" featureset. How convenient.
Unfortunately, I made said discovery /after/ this little impromptu 'shoot was over, and I had already returned home. Still, shouldn't have to contend with these weird-looking shadows plaguing my 'shots any longer with this new camera. That's progress!

Loading issues with SL especially with a weaker machine or bad connection on your side also causes problems. Having songs cut out for 30 seconds is just as prolific and annoying if it failed to load in parts of the songs until they play. Field Trips aren't the same as they used to be, there's no wow factor about them anymore, before when there was an entire string of ponies it was funny now it's just 4-6 ponies in the same locations. Actually, during the Voidicus era, field trips were even more frequent than they are now. There used to be Tuesday and Friday field trips too, and sometimes even a Saturday one. It was only during the Trottingham era that the Friday ones were replaced by parties, and the Tuesday ones were replaced by Havock, which then got replaced by movie watching over a year later.
There was even a time when Snus hosted "filth trips" too: field trips to weird fetish sims. But eventually those stopped happening too.

You should know that everyone knows that it's normal to take literally like two weeks to learn wtf the interface does and how the game works. Back when the threads first started everyone was clueless for days, the "prodigies" got the hang of things within a couple of days, everyone else took a week or two. Almost everypony still remembers their first weeks.
Helping new ponies is almost a hobby for some, because there's just so much to explain. But even if you wanna go at it alone to not be overwhelmed, basically everyone is always happy to hear questions and answer them.

There's plenty of ponies who still don't know shit after months if not years. There's literal oldfags still finding out new shit to this day. Some ponies just never really bothered to learn so they can get around and use the basics of their inventory but just shrug helplessly when it comes to like editing objects or anything more advanced like that.

tl;dr: SL is obtuse as fuck and everyone knows it, everyone's helping each other and asking questions even if they're not a newfag, and newfags needing to be handheld for literal weeks is fully expected and everypony before you has done the same thing and been handheld through it just the same.

I know anxiety isn't always rational but SL really is unique in this as far as I know, it is the absolute and utter opposite of "lurk more". We're all board anons here, but we're also all relatively new to SL and all here to help each other in SL.
Trust me, a player with 15 years of experience and deep knowledge of every system in SL but only passing experience with /mlp/ is going to be looked upon extremely unkindly, while brand new board anons are literally the best kind of new player to join the sim.

Arriving as default pony, then seeing the horse flip through the avatar parts catalog on the sim was cute. You could see how they stopped at their dream bug item in total awe for a couple mins before continuing flipping. Couple days later the Buggo had really evolved with all sorts of bug parts that were available and in their budget.

I'm not really a fan of bugs but witnessing that development was cute and I really respect the struggle of putting something together when you don't have funds yet. Gradually getting closer and closer to your dream look that you'll one day have.

When I was new was also around when we had a Hearts and Hooves Day build a couple years ago. To access it, there was a balloon ride and after some ponies welcomed me to check out the build, I managed to fall off the balloon while riding it and I logged off, didn't logon for a maybe a week and didn't go to the build (either it was gone or I didn't go near it again). I also did other things like hide in the Ponyville Hmart to work on a mare, but was Anonmare most of the time anywhere else. I have grown from that but it took some time, and at times I still struggle to interact, especially in the open.

I forced myself through several months of panic attacks, using the stress as a fuel to act out more, until a point where I had some kind of mental snap and zoned out for a month just living my own life in baltimare, then stress came back when popens started asking if I was okay / I noticed popens avoiding me a bit.

If I see field trips to SLB locations or other SL events, I may or may not go despite loving field trips. Those sims tend to be more misses than hits. There was some Christmas sim for example that was nicely built, but it just felt like some normalfag thing, and even something that I could just see IRL. Okay this one I want to elaborate on, I'm 99% sure this happens just if discord doesn't like you for some reason. If you use an email that itself requires a mandatory phone number, like gmail for example, then it'll probably be fine, if not you get hit with "your account is suspended for suspicious activity" (2-3 seconds after you've created it.
