>>42321876You have no friendship in your heart.
>>42321868 (OP)Twilight’s School of Special Snowflakeness is referenced, so that immediately puts it into the category of “Should not exist,” but besides that, I would say it’s nearly kino perfection. Good pacing, pretty cool animation, and a decent amount of snowpity. I just wish Seasons 8 and 9 never existed and this was the only thing to come after the movie. Then I’d be happy. As it stands now, it’s kinda unwatchable. But I still like/love most of it on its own.
>>42321876Do you need some subway surfers and family guy funny moments on top
I haven't seen it but the fact that Fluttershy is wearing socks in it makes me suspect that's the main reason people say it's snowpitiful.
>/mlp/ can't stop bitching about the haberverse and how pony should be cute again and not woke
>cute, not woke pony special is released. literally exactly what anons were asking for
>dead on arrival, gets maybe 1 thread a year and no fan content while /mlp/ continues reeing across 9000 threads about the haberverse
Anons ignore it because it goes against the narrative.
>>42321898It’s the pacing that makes it snowpityish. It reminds me of when I was home sick when I was elementary school aged (which would usually be me faking it) and watching preschool shows because they were the only thing on. I guess when you’re the target demographic the slow pacing of those isn’t as obvious, but I have very cozy, very relaxing memories of being entranced by that slow, peaceful pacing seeing it when I was past the age for it.
This is just like that. As a story, it has absolutely no real reason to be a fully hour at all. (It’s exactly 60 minutes, by the way, not just a normal “TV hour” of 45 minutes.) It’d actually be stretching to fill the usual 22 minutes runtime, because there’s just not very much to it as a story. But it works out to be cozy, relaxing, warm and nostalgic from its ridiculously slow pacing. Not boring. Peak comfort.
>>42321902There's literally nothing to talk about
It's one of the most boring things ever released in G4. Wow, the M6 walk around and talk with some literal who OCs in the most generic played out way possible. "Here is applejack, she is honest. Here is Rarity, she is generous."
The source of the conflict wasn't even a villain, it was just a retard.
I want to fuck this cripple.
>>42321933>The source of the conflict wasn't even a villain“Oh no! The conflict resolution for this story may be something besides ’splosions!!! My brain is too dumb for that! I need idiotic shit tier action to keep my brain active!”
>>42321902It's so comfy that I forgot even Twilights wings, and I could've sworn that there's no mention about that fucking school. It's peak, and I especially like how there's plot about as much as your normal episode but it's stretched over the hour. It's so calm and unhurried. But guess bevause it's positive thing anons automatically ignore it.
>>42321941If you're going to expect me to give a shit for an hour straight I need more than "let's sing a song and suddenly everything is okay again yippee"
There's no adventure to Rainbow Roadtrip, it's dragged out scenes of characters having uninspired yap sessions strung together by a few weak late-season songs
>>42321949You need to relax while you watch it. Drink some tea, get comfortable, and maybe even get high. Then you’ll enjoy it.
>>42321868 (OP)To be fair, you need to have a very high IQ to appreciate Rainbow Roadtrip...
Fluttersocks and the mare with the prosthesis are the only things I liked about it
Rainbow roadtrip is peak comfiness. Not much on the side of the plot (i've watched it a number of times and i swear can't remember almost anything about the main quest except for the scene where the colors return) but it's very cute and relaxing, cute ponies, fluttershy in socks, etc.. Just snowpity all around.
>>42321888Some of us just need something (ANYTHING) to happen in the stories we watch.
It’s good to see a good lesson from the show that late in the run. They were basically incapable of that later on. They’d either be well-intentioned lessons done in the stupidest and worst way possible, or downright evil lessons, like “accept abuse” and “murder children.” Honestly unbelievable that this was made during the same time as that shite.
>>42322016There's plenty of going on. Your brain Is just fried from video equivalent of loudness wars and its not rainbow road trips fault.
Never watched it before, saw this thread and decided to give it a go
What a nice piece of media, very cozy and cute and fluffy, literally comfy season 1 vibes from it, what exactly are you niggers on about, how can you complain about it
And wtf is this about "not too much happening" you dimwits, there's not a single moment of calm in those 60 minutes, it's always hectic scene to hectic scene with plot point after plot point, I'd actually appreciate a more toned down calmer version of it instead
>>42322269>this nigga wants me to believe he was on the edge of his seat for arguments about an apricot treeuh huh, real groundbreaking nailbiting stuff
>>42322015I haven't watched it in five years and don't remember a single thing except the animation style, but perhaps its forgetability is a blessing in disguise? Every five years, we have a whole hour of pony to re-experience almost like it's completely new.
>>42322276if you can't appreciate ingenuous simplicity how about you go watch an action movie instead of a toy commercial
>>42321868 (OP)Rainbow Roadtrip is probably the closest FIM comes to be like a G3 story and that's why many people don't #vibe with it: It's slower, has no interpersonal conflicts and no antagonists. It's very reminiscant of The Runaway Rainbow actually: Whereas Rainbow Roadtrip is about restoring colour to the village, The Runaway Rainbow is in part about preventing the colours to vanish from Ponyland. It's like pottery.

>>42321868 (OP)the first time i watched it i was unnerved that there would be sideline into the story, but internal conflict or whatever made the place lose color was better, also i want to destroy torque wrench's baby cannon

>>42322276>pastel horses should be like my capeshit sloppa!!!What a retarded take nigger, I appreciate the twilight vs tirek as much as the next faggot, but pray tell: what was the big eventful villain battle in all of s1? Tickets to a party, are you kidding me? Where are the big bad guys?!? Where's the hustle and bustle?!?
Honestly, dyewts? And if so, why? Go watch wwe instead, you're losing time with pastel horses for little girls without action scenes
>>42322684The best night ever wasn't an hour long
>>42322906You might wanna brush up on your English, anon
That Twilight vs. Tirek DBZ fight was shit from the beginning and it ruined the entire trajectory of the show forever, including what retard “fans” of the show want to see. It’s a cute comfy show for girlies. If you want big, epic battles, then you’re everything wrong with the fandom. Fuck off forever. Go watch the latest brainrotting superhero garbage shite.

Should I wait to watch this when I've gotten to season 9 or should I watch it sooner?
>>42325896You shouldn't watch season 9 at all.
>this was the last piece of FiM that actually premiered on DiscoFam without getting leaked early
Huh
>>42321868 (OP)Unironically a great piece. If you remove the retarded mention of the school at the beginning, it comes very close to S1 comfy quality.
>>42321938The fuff is cute. She's a 10/10.
