uma musume is literally the most anti-horse piece of media I've ever seen. It goes out of its way to remove all horses from its setting and replace them with humans. The only way you could make something even more anti-horse is to like kill horses on camera or something. The fact this shit is touted as 'horse anime' is just a slap in the face to people who actually like horses.
I was actually really hyped about it when I first heard of it, the disappointment was immense when I discovered it was just women. I'm still on the lookout for an actual horse-focused anime, horses in anime tend to look so beautiful. There is a genuine love for horses in japanese culture and I think they are singularly capable of representing the beauty and majesty of horses in animation. Uma musume on the other hand is just openly astroturfed human bullshit meant to draw more money to (debatably ethical) the dying horse racing racket.

I agree, even as a fan of kemonomimi girls, it baffles me that you can make a series literally called Horse Girls yet make "horse girls" that are so featureless and unenjoyable. Same, I thought it was hasbro being lazy and copied transformers naming convention (bumblebee, starscream, Ironhide, etc). Turns out I was wrong and it was transformer the one using MLP naming convention which came from actual horse naming convention.
