Why hasn't a pony thought about using magic to switch their race to either a unicorn or a Pegasus?
It's clearly possible within the world thanks to magic, so why hasn't anypony thought to do it?

because in equestria ponies learn that they're valuable for who they are and not what they can do. they don't need to "upgrade" to a more utilitarian-approved unicorn body. each pony is already an irreplaceable life in a beautiful world.
