I've been autistically imagining the events of Kaiji but with Applejack as the protagonist. In this scenario Applejack has to earn enough bits to buy the rights of Sweet Apple Acres back, from from which a legal loophole left it in the hands of Filthy Rich, by participating in a high stakes gamble. Applejack would work really well because one, the concept of gambling conflicts with her honesty, forcing her to overcome that initial entry barrier, and two, her "honest senses" would probably make her a good gambler ironically enough.
