It's because things weren't meant to be this way. It was never meant to be about who knows the strongest spells, or who can win the most gay little anime beam struggles. Celestia was meant as a moral and spiritual ideal who the main characters could look to as a guide on their ongoing journey to live up to the lessons of Harmony. She's a mentor and an ideal, not the physical stand-in for the might of Equestria. However, if you're a post-Faust writer and you want the show to conform to a more conventional, contemporary cartoon format, then you need 'dramatic fight scenes' and 'credibly strong villains' and all that nonsense. So, somepony needs to get Worf'd. It's not going to be Twilight; hence, Joblestia.
