I've been trying to come up with a consistent standard of why some m6 episodes are considered bad, and others are considered good, and why some characters like Rarity are considered to have "usually good episodes", while characters like RD are considered to have "reliably bad" episodes. After much deliberation on episodes the fanbase liked compared to what they didn't like, the most consistent through-line I found was whether the conflict was cause by one of the m6 ponies, or something else. In the case of RD episodes, the conflict usually comes from her because she has a lot of shit personality traits. But when it comes to Rarity episodes, most of her episodes have conflicts being cause by someone not her. Even episodes like Rarity Takes Manehattan or Simple Ways have her less than stellar behavior be caused by another character, whom the narrative places the bulk of the blame on. The only Rarity episode I've personally watched that bucks that trend is the one where Sweetie Bell wants Rarity to spend more time with her. The vast majority of Rarity episodes are set up in such a way that the blame for something is never fully squarely on her, an instead another character can be blamed at least partially for causing it, whether it be another member of the m6, or a pony of the week. So basically, Rarity episodes don't seemed to be liked because Rarity herself is an amazing character, they're liked because the writers very rarely ever let Rarity be objectively in the wrong for something.
>TL;DR - Rarity episodes are only 'good' because her flaws are typically glossed over and never land her in hot water that adversely effects her or her desires.
In other words... Rarity is liked because she's kind of a Mary Sue. Sure she has flaws, but she's 'flawed' in that Mary Sue way, where her flaws almost never actually cause trouble for her outside of only a handful of episodes. Which are the episodes people are most likely to dislike, I might add.

Is it really the later seasons fault though? Last I checked, even early season Pinkie episodes had pretty bad reputations. In fact, I don't think ANY of the Pinkie episodes from the first 3 seasons have a generally positive reputation. I'm pretty sure every single one is divisive or sordid in some way. FPK and SOTC are both generally pretty controversial, Baby Cakes is one of the contenders for worst episode of season 2, the Crankey Doodle episode is considered weak and one of Pinkie's worst episodes personality wise. Too Many Pinkie Pies is also considered pretty subpar. The only Pinkie episode that doesn't have a decidedly negative reception is Party of One, that's it.
I'm actually shocked Pinkie seems to have had so many fans for so much of the show's run, considering her episode track record is, at best, on par with or even arguably worse than Dash's, who's track record is regarded as pretty bad. I don't know how one character can have so many 'bad' episodes and still be held in such high regard for so long.

This is the first one where she's definitely the one causing the problem. It's easy to say that Photo Finish caused the rift but Rarity pushed Fluttershy to go with her against Fluttershy's wishes.

She makes her own trouble in this one, she decides Canterlot's more important than her friends.

This is the first of the type you're describing. A villain covers for her and makes her actions more sympathetic.

This one's sort of like Manehattan but with a much less harmful antagonist, thus making her actions feel more her fault.

It's entirely possible that all future episodes follow the season 4 formula, but from what I've seen so far that's specifically a season 4 thing. Her having a tendency to have a pony of the week that leads to her problem is because she's a social pony whose connections to wider society define her as a character, but at least in seasons 1-3 that wasn't a way to soften the blow of her actions.

I wouldn't say it was just her causing problems. The end message there was about communication, and the thing was Fluttershy also wasn't saying how she truly felt out of concern for Rarity. So there's still two of them at fault here, it wasn't entirely Rarity causing the issue.

Rarity's flaws were contributing here, but she was also being pressured by the Canterlot elites. This one also ties into my other point - while Rarity's flaw may at least be partially in play, it ultimately doesn't effect her. Rarity's lying doesn't effect her standing with her friends, and Rarity having to come clean at the end is undercut by Fancy Pants bailing her out, so she still gets the approval from the elites she wanted in the first place. Her flaws don't actually screw her over, she still got everything she wanted. Moreover, this is one of the Rarity episodes most likely to be considered bad by people, which is what lead me to these conclusions.
Even so, you did still agree with me on 3/7, and only partially disagreed on 2. That's pretty close to a majority, and my greater point is about how disproportionate it is compared to the others. Compare that list to Rainbow Dash, Applejack, or even a lot of Twilight episodes, where the conflict is directly caused by their flaws and they're the one who needs to learn a lesson. Even in overlap episodes, like LBYS where it's both AJ and Rarity, the narrative ultimately places more culpability on Applejack than Rarity, with Applejack being both the first, and ultimately only character to apologize for her actions and try to extend an olive branch, making it seem much more like Applejack learning to tolerate Rarity than both of them learning to tolerate each other. I think even most Anons if asked whether one character was more responsible for the fighting, you'll find most of them are much more likely put more blame on Applejack for the conflict than they do on Rarity.
But going back to Dash, the only season 1 Dash episode I can think of where the conflict is caused by someone else is Sonic Rainboom, and that's it. Much more of er episodes are about her flaws causing problems than Rarity's, and I think that's why their so disliked. Sonic Rainboom is again, one of the only where it isn't Dash causing the problem, and it's also one of the top contenders for best Dash episode for most people, along with Wonderbolt Academy, which also falls into the paradigm. I don't think that's a coincidence.
