It's a good idea. I don't think the cockatrice is used enough. Never see it really used in mlp related stuff. It'd be nice if they could still hear when turned to stone like Discord was able to in season 3. But I don't think Twilight was consciences when she was stone.

And to be specific, the ponies never refer to their body as covered in hair, when they say "hair" they are always talking about their mane and tail. I'm not sure if they ever use the term fur though or if they just say "coat". Everyone is scared of the "fur".
