I've been told that any Anon AND THEIR DOG can write a better Magical Mystery Cure.

Please organize your posts in reboot versus remake.

Remake implies you still keep the same depressing tone of everyone sucking at their job except you modify the ending so Twilight doesn't turn into a winged unicorn. You gen-Zers are obsessed with "How It Should Have Ended".

Reboot implies you completely change entire plotlines of the episode such as not only do the mane6 rock at their switched jobs, but there's a giant hydra attack in the 3rd act or they have to survive in the everfree forest for a night with their cutie marks all fucked up. The Cutie Mark Crusaders can come too and get a better role and better cutie marks.

I just wouldn't make an episode based around ruining a character, just seems like a bad idea

How about instead of just the mane 6 getting their cutie marks switched, everyone in equestria does?
Even celestia
Now we get to see how the crusaders work with a cutie mark even if it's not their own like cutie pox
The various venders try and fail at selling different produce
Celestia and Luna deal with not being able to control the sun and moon
Derpy becomes the new princess of equestria now that she can control the sun

>REBOOT
>Nothing stays the same except the episode title. Hour-long special.
>Twilight is grappling with her conflicting roles as both an adoptive sister and an adoptive mother to Spike, and trying to figure out what role she plays, or should play, in his life.
>When Spike comes down with a severe, potentially-lethal dragon illness (some sort of bone disease that only affects infant dragons), Twilight and Princess Celestia have to gather the rare, exotic magical ingredients for the only medicine that can cure him: freshly-squeezed juice from a dragonfruit (the solvent), ground bone from a terrasque (the solute), and the dust from a reincarnated phoenix (the catalyst).
>With Celestia's assistance, the three ingredients are obtained with relative ease. Even the terrasque bone, which Twilight thought would be next to impossible to get, is conveniently requisitioned from a paleontology museum in Canterlot thanks to Celestia's assistance. But the hardest step is yet to come.
>In order to brew the medicinal potion, the resulting product from the chemical reaction needs to be boiled by dragonflame - specifically, the flames of Spike's mother.
>Celestia and Twilight are able to track down Spike's biological mother (let's call her Charlene), since she sold her egg to the school years ago. But, as expected of someone who'd sell their own child, Charlene's a horrible mother, doesn't care about her offspring at all, and spent all the money she got from selling him on shitty knick-knacks for her hoard.
>When Twilight confronts Charlene in her cave (Celestia waits outside, so as not to cause an international incident), she's so infuriated with how little Spike's own flesh and blood cares for him that they come to blows. During the fight, Twilight's magic is supercharged by her emotions and feelings for Spike, allowing her to narrowly defeat Charlene. But rather than help out after, she just fucks off and flies away. Realizing that the only hope for Spike's survival is gone forever, Twilight weeps, screams, and ugly cries for an uncomfortably long amount of time. There's no music. For at least a solid two minutes, it's just the sounds of a grown woman crying out in anguish.
>When Celestia comes in and asks what happens, Twilight breaks down again and explains everything in a disjointed, blubbering rant, ending with "my SON is going to DIE and IT'S ALL MY FAULT."

>And then it hits her: she called Spike "son." Charlene might've laid his egg, but it was Twilight who raised him. She stops crying, gets up, and tells Celestia she knows what to do now.
>Celestia lends Twilight enough magic to teleport all the way back to the treehouse, and she goes into her lab and starts boiling the potion with her own magic. It flares up like it did in the fight against Charlene, and the flames become so hot that they reach the temperature of dragonflame.
>Spike's in some sort of coma/fugue, so Twilight opens his mouth and pours the potion in, whispering "please work please work please work please work."
>He comes out of it, still groggy, and the first thing he says after hearing Twilight's voice is "mom?"
>Twilight says, "Yeah. It's me, Spike."
>Spike opens his eyes, then looks confused at first, but he puts two and two together a few seconds later.
>They hug. Happy ending.
>The letter Twilight writes to Celestia is about how a mother will do anything for her child.

More than a reboot. I donโ€™t think such a transformation can be done in a single episode. Look at Best Night Ever. Several episodes build up to it over the course if the first season. Same should have been done with Magical Mystery Cure.

Alicorn Twilight is the least of that episodes problems though. It had the worst effect on the show and fandom afterwards, but looking at just the episode itself the story is full of issues. The whole thing would need to be rewritten cause what it does to cutie mark lore makes 0 damn sense.

>the only ones not affected by the spell are the CMC since they don't have cutie marks
>they become a crucial part for solving the problem
>at the end, they end up getting their own CM
I think it's a better finale since it closes the CMC arc and makes more sense than Twilight becoming an alicorn. Even if it doesn't directly involve the M6 it would be fun to see a KND style of episode where only the kids that doesn't have cutie marks are able to help.

Instead of job switches it's actual fucking personality switches like we expected and instead of just a personality switch it's a fusion. Raritypie would be an amazing personality mixture.

90s and 2000s writing out of 10.
Actually dramatic instead of melodramatic.
Decent twist puzzle like all good cartoons back then during the 2000s.

Not in the style of FIM at all, but good by itself.

This is what annoys me with Canterlot Wedding. They could have just name dropped Shining Armour earlier in the series, and Cadence could've been mentioned in Hearts and Hooves Day. That way the fandom would've been excited to see them, rather than confused

Magical mystery mares plot has the worst pacing in the show.
It jumps from moment to moment with a song each scene and the viewer can really fully grasp in the situation he is in.
It feels like patting out screentime cause they didnt knew how to stretch the runtime of the episode
