Was there any logical reason the show did away with all the equine related behavior, apparel and incorporated architecture as the series went on?

You know why, it's easier, less hassle to animate, and the soulless later season writers/animators either stopped giving a fuck or never did

This is why g5 has them all just holding smartphones in hooves. Who cares, turn your brain off

I blame the art schools that focus on human characters. Everyone sharpens their skills learning how to draw human faces, poses, action, etc. They'd have to specifically study Equines to properly animate them. You'll notice that it isn't enough to just study quadruped art, since furry animation takes on a distinctly "dog" quality. They went out of their way at Lauren's insistence to make them ponies that do pony things.

Ironically this lack of equine study is why g5 and probably g6 will fail. They aren't even studying equines now. They literally look to g4 as the model. That's why you get fucked up shit like Pony Life models that look nothing like horses in any way.
>but g4 is cats
A little. But the model was equine. I don't think that G5 was dogs. I literally think it was modified G4.

I blame the artists more than the writers. They never had to dial the pony back.

There really were no logical reasons as to why, Lauren was really the only one to enforce the equine behavior as can be seen by her notes in the pitch bible. She was most likely the one to inject or key in more pony like behaviors when it came down to storyboard reviews, this of course would interfere with Hasbro desires on what they deem marketable among other things so naturally after Faust left the show the pony behaviors went with her, there was prolly a hold out or two but between time crunch and Hasbro breathing over them for more marketable vehicles it quickly fell out of habit only to be remembered by the oldest writers/storyboarders when they remember to squeeze it in

I consider S4 and onward to be My Little Humanoid. All horse stuff declines, more bipedalism, more callbacks to modern culture.

I imagine it being seen as nerdy or autistic in equestria to do anything especially horsey like tearing up or horse noises so it makes sense he would do it more than other characters

Nobody cares. The fact the ponies looked more like cats than horses is the primary reason people liked it at all. Horses are shit.

Sometimes when someone huffs a sign of disappointment they add a horse breathing sound. But it was rare.
Speaking of rare, as a rarityfag, i found it really fucked up how much Rarity stood on her hind legs during the song "Fit Right In". Way to human.
