It feels like they were setting up for something about Twilight really struggling with the attention she now gets as a princess but then they forgot that part of the script, sorta like how they forgot to actually include a resolution to the plot in Bats.
People point to ponies shooting lasers as the sign that S4 became shounenslop but the main character eating ridiculous amounts of junk food is the real sign.

I think the joke was meant to be that Twilight has a big appetite and bad table manners, which is 'funny', because now she's a princess, and princesses aren't supposed to have big appetites or bad table manners. I feel like a Canterlot unicorn who went to Equestria's most prestigious school would know better, but I'm not one of Hasbro's subcontracted Fiverr writers, so I'm probably wrong.
