Derpi's advantage is having an actual userbase that tags and rates things. Altboorus have the benefits of different moderation, allowing content derpi decided later in life to nuke, and ALLEGEDLY being an ARCHIVE OF ART (Disputed, see: actions performed by altboorus)
You could handwave it with "durr who cares about ratings anyway fucking normalfags" but not having ratings available makes everything a disorganized mess where you can't discern things like crowdsourced "highest quality art" in a search.
Twibooru as an example has maybe 5 regular rating users, half of which seem dedicated to downvoting every fat picture that gets imported while also upvoting >anthro. If you're trying to look for a collection of really good art for something, you genuinely have to go to derpi so you can use the score filter, because on twi all you'll get, after minutes of lowering the "score:gte" value repeatedly, is the history of featured images.

I'm having a bit of a moral quandary
I'm having increasing financial issues for various reasons and need to cut back expenses
Pony.tube is costing over $100 a month (after generous donations) and I don't have the time to properly manage it and I'm very concerned with it running out of storage it could take quite a bit to upgrade (and result in increased monthly fees)
That, plus I feel like I no longer have adequate time/energy to put into keeping it running properly (it badly needs software updates), I was hoping to find someone trustworthy with time willing to help with sys admin duties but haven't yet
I don't want to ever kill it, but it may be time to more actively seek help to keep the site alive
Even if a pile of cash dropped on me tomorrow I don't have the time to get it moved to a new host properly by myself

I just found out that YouTube has started an experiment where it has started (randomly) applying AI filters to people's videos without their permission (making real videos look AI generated).
