And Applejack and Rainbow Dash are seen in a really close loving relationship with each probably because they share the same voice actress. This is why they need to be educated on the consequences of being lesbians and god’s punishment for them being it.

Funny enough, even going by Word of God, Haber said it's up to viewer interpretation and Faust has on record said she doesn't consider Rainbow a lesbian and wasn't created with that intention. So even word of god is actually two for two against it being unanimously canon.
