absolutely deaf and untrained ears take. you could maybe argue most of Pet Sounds sounds similar but that record sounds almost nothing like the rest of their albums. They have their early surf sound which completely changed by the time of Today. And then later on Smiley Smile sounds very left field minimalist weird psychedelic shit, on Sunflower they practically invented shoegaze with All I Wanna Do, and Surfs Up isn't remotely surf but still sounds different than all the albums that preceded. desu I wish more of their music sounded like Pet Sounds cause the album isn't copied enough by any artist though Zombies had a good attempt with Odyssey and Oracle and I always felt John Cale Paris 1919 had moments especially like the title track that resembled it
