>>126692262Probably when I first saw a video compilation showing popular rap songs and their sample sources. I realized the best part of all of those songs was the original track, for instance the Isley Bros originals completely mog the inferior loop-based tracks by Biggie, Ice Cube, K*ndrick etc. There's a huge difference between building a completely new track from various samples and just taking an old song wholesale (as P Diddler was known to do).
One exception is "Mind Playing Tricks On Me", which is just as cool as the Isaac Hayes song imo.
