>>126699545In my opinion, the same way people in the 1900s used to say "the horse is here to stay, no machine surpasses the feeling/bond of a live animal" is the way people talk about musicians/artists now.
In 5 years, we will see a spike in AI production, as AI advances, songs tailored for each taste, along with art, arrangement etc... even live shows (especially once holodeck-like hologram become real) will be AI, as Hatsune Miku already showed to be possible.
In my opinion, the death of music industry will happen around 2036-2039, once AI gets as good as humans, and boomers have died out, gen x now senile, no longer buy much, and millenials, now old, are reluctant to try new things. Gen z had Billie eillish etc... but gen alfa (2025-...) will be the first generation to have no music idol. In 10 years, music will likely be divided into 2 : "homemade" highly individualized, maybe shared among an online subculture, and some kind of popslop, just so most people can have something to relate to. I think future musicians, will be like vtubers, who remix/modify the songs that AI make, giving a "human touch" both to avatars, and AI songs.
