Trying to get together with local musicians based on shared musical interests will go nowhere if you have radical morals. There used to be a unified culture that was such that people in general were expected to share enough of a moral framework to make musical collaboration and touring together possible. This is no longer palatable or safe, so people should form bands based on shared moral and political attributes rather than merely shared musical interests.
