When I saw this live at the Pontiac silverdome, Axel threw a fit and refused to play it, incoherently rambling about the video (they have the videos, I'm not playing it or something it was hard to tell as he wasn't exactly by the mike.) The band disappeared backstage and a slightly roughed up Axel calmly started the song.
When it was time for the outro, Axel played it in double time. Matt just glared at him and started hitting the kick from to the correct beat.

Also that same night, Axel's mike cut out during you could be mine and he threw a fit and ran off. The band finished the song without him. When he came back he made them okay the whole thing again.
This was the Metallica Faith no more tour, and when James's mine cut off during sanitarium he simple walked over to Jason's Mike and shared it.
>t. waited in the parking lot for 10 hours to get in the front section of the main floor because I saw the stage set up on MTV and knew if I camped out I'd get effective standing front row "seats."

Axl was the proto-Karen, that's why his entire band left him.

That sucks because he's otherwise awesome, but I saw what I saw. I hate Metallica for their hypocrisy over becoming successful through analog file sharing (tapes) then coming out against it, not they were way more professional.

I honestly can't remember what the best "guitar solo" I've ever heard is. The worst one I've ever heard live was Green Day at Cobo Hall in the 90's. It was the tour with opening act "pansy division." The band was still very new and my friend got the tickets from someone who won them on the radio. It was the night of the concert and we had nothing better to do. Billie or whatever his name is played a guitar solo so bad he chastised the audience for cheering. It was mostly underage girls and their parents. It was then and there I gave up any delusions about succeeding in music.

Per gnrontour:

>Axl throws up at the end of 'You Could Be Mine' and leaves the stage.

>More crude, but equally effective, was the crowd participation T&A show on the video screens between the Metallica and Guns N' Roses show (a 1h45m break that was longer than some bands' entire shows), during which the concert camera crew panned the audience and dozens of women in the crowd bared various body parts to the raucous approval of their brethren […] proving that a surprising number of young women are willing to take it off when almost 50,000 voices request it.

>T&A
I wasn't going to mention that part, but since you brought it up, there was a blonde in white panties standing on a guys shoulders and we willed into being another guy to jump up and rip them off eventually. I felt mildly guilty of collective rape at the time, absurd as that is.
>Threw up
I didn't see him throw up, the mike stopped working. He referenced this later "All we need is patience AND A REALLY GOOD MICROPHONE MAN!"
It's possible he threw up and I missed it but friends who were in the lower bowl never said he threw up and this is the first time I'm hearing about it.
>1hr45 min
You got to understand how every gnr show in the Detroit area was cursed before this and we were willing to put up with anything. I do remember it being forever between shows, but it didn't seem that long. Maybe it was.

If we're going by album solos, I think whole lot of Rosie was my favorite because it just keeps going, but I didn't hear them live until they came to the palace of Auburn hills a good while after razors edge came out. Even then I was disappointed. I figured Angus had arthritis or something. I don't like them much anymore and have since decided that the real genius was always mutt Lange.
For some reason my mind keeps going to comfortably numb as "the best guitar solo" but I think that's more about the mood I'm in. Nevermind.

When the video for "estranged" came out that's when people stopped caring about those albums, but listening to it now it's actually incredibly good. Weird.
