For me it's mostly female artists and all the quirky ones are her favorite, she doesn't hate pure pop but she's not super into it either, has some childhood favorites. Is mostly uninterested with Taylor, but is casually curious about her as a cultural phenomenon. Thinks Billie Eilish has "some nice songs" but that's as far as she goes. Scrunches her nose at ones like Ariana and Lana and Beyonce, but doesn't shit talk them. Finds most of her music from NPR and YT recommendations. Pours over lyrics of her favorites and is excited to share her interpretations.. Loves old folk and blues too.

I've just been pining for this middle aged lady for years that is really into music but is kinda private about it, like it's too personal to share her favorites, she has really unique taste and I've never stopped fantasizing about finding a true artsy girl ever since. Like 15 yrs older than me and married though. She's my moms neighbor and close friend. Inadvertently introduced me to mu when she sent me a chart years ago. Laughed and said no no no when I asked her if she went on the chan herself hah.
My last girlfriend followed every trend, shit on stuff hard all the time, and got all into all the celeb drama. We had a huge fight about Chappell Roan. Because I couldn't hold my shit and told her it was all stupid shit because she had been going on about gossip and who said what, sending me screenshots of tweets, her arguing with people online etc. Accused me of not supporting her and being sexist bla fucking bla. First girl I've broken up with on my own. She ghosts me for days when we fight and then will post pics of herself on her socials all dressed up hot like she's about to go out, or text my friends and ask if they're busy. Showed up at my place at almost midnight when she hadn't talking to me, and had just posted herself on IG in a cute outfit like an hour before. I saw them before I went to bed. She banged on my door and was flipping the fuck out because of the extra car in my driveway, because there was girl shit in the car, convinced I was in here cheating. Was just my sister who brought her kids to spend the day and night since I was free. Woke both of the kids up. Embarrassing as fuck. Grown ass woman that lives online for no reason at all. Wasted almost two years with her for some reason.

My ex was just listening to weird dancy funk songs she found through spotify, I think that was perfect.

It's a nice bonus to have a few artists in common so you can go to shows together, but other than that it's irrelevant t. Thinking taste in any artform is important to a functioning relationship is a sophomoric attitude.

I've never had any interest in a female with music taste similar to my own. I've found that the more pleasant a female is to be around, the more bland her music taste is. The ones that like good or annoying music are either boring or outright unbearable people.
